I'll be in Vegas this weekend with a couple of buddies I grew up with. We all turn/turned 50 this year so we thought we would meet in Vegas for a little "feel young again" partying.

We are all successful businessmen (Financial Advisor, Doctor, and Money Manager) so we have business associates willing to coddle us. One of thej offered VIP passes to the clubs, but not sure what clubs would be more appropriate for us. We are all fit, look 5-10 years younger than our age, and definitely act like we are still 25-30, and love the musicthe clubs will play so that isn't an issue. I guess I have some questions:

    1) Is the dress code still nice Jeans, shoes, and possibly a sports coat?
    2) With a VIP pass, does that mean we will get in or can the bouncer still say we are to old :)?
    3) What time should we plan on getting there?
    4) What clubs would you suggest, if any? We don't want an older crowd (our age) as we get that all the time?

I visit Vegas 2-4 times per year so I know my way around the casinos and clubs a little bit.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I'm not sure what the VIP passes will get you, but most likely just let you cut to the front of the line?
You should get the details of the passes, and then call the clubs to get exact information on what you can expect.

But if I were you guys, with your demographics, I would get VIP table service at one of the major clubs (the big ones are pretty much all the same, Hakkasan, XS, Marquee, Light etc. All the electronic dance music sounds the same to me).
This will cost $2K to $5K, depending on the DJ playing, location of the table etc.
So this works out to about $1K per person, which seems like a lot but if you are successful businessmen as you say, and this is a special celebration trip, it shouldn't be a problem for you guys.
Bottles of Vodka will run about $800 to $1200, so you will get about 2 to 4 bottles (liters).
This is WAY too much for the 4 of you, so you will need help emptying them.
This is where the young hotties come in, since you can invite groups of hot chicks to join you at your VIP table, to get free drinks, and to have some space away from the shoulder to shoulder crowds on the floor.
Believe me, this is what many of the "regulars" come to the clubs for, to get free drinks from tables of guys.
You get to pick and choose.

A bonus tip: When you book VIP service, you should get the contact information for a host who will actually be there that night.
When you get to the club, you will call your host, who will meet you, and escort your group past the envious long lines waiting to get in and get you to your table right away. This is a part of the "cool" VIP experience that your $2K-$5K is paying for.
But when you do this, try to identify some hot girls near the back of the line, and invite them to join you at your VIP table, and cut through all the BS of waiting in line.
For a really cool effect, ask your host to do the inviting! The girls will really think you are a VIP, since the host is acting like your personal assistant! Of course, tip your host at least a hundred if he/she does this.

    Have fun!

VIP passes are hit or miss. Might get front of the line, might get free entry, might have to wait in another line that is quicker but pay....need to find out what VIP means on the pass.

Personally basing it on this weekend's lineup, and I am 45 and like EDM, I would consider the following based on my dj preference.

    Friday

    Hakkasan with Steve Aoki
    Marquee with Chuckie
    Drais with 3LAU

    Saturday
    Hakkasan with Martin Garrix
    Drais with Quintino
    Life with Dirty South

Saturday would be tougher for me as they all do very good sets. Life is the newest club on the block as it has been open since Labor Day. Have not been there.
Aoki will be solid at Hakkasan but I feel you need a table there as w/o it to me it is not as enjoyable.
XS is the popular choice by most but there is no dj there that I would need to go see.

Talent is everywhere and the majority will be 20's and 30's.

Since you are disclosing your jobs, get a table and have a blast. Walking in, then having to walk around, then having to wait by the bar to get drinks, to walk around and try to talk to women, to have to go back to the bar to buy drinks....see the effort going on?

Now instead invest in a table and have a place to sit, have your drinks made for you from your bottle(s), pick and choose the women you want to talk to and invite them to the table by using the host or security guy. Much easier. Our groups rule of thumb as we range from 34 to me is $100 per bottle for the host (bigger tip means better location. Discuss that with the host ahead of time), $30 for the busboy (tip buys quicker cleanliness) and $50 for the security guy (Makes sure there are no bottle rats/people trying to get a free drink)

Your dress code assumption is good to go. The jacket is good but to carry it around or wear it all night in a crowded club??? I always do a conservative button down shirt with a collar not tucked in and have had no problems. If you do a table odds are they'll want you there by 11. Again discuss that with the host if you decide to go with that choice.

    Hope this helps.

Sounds like you are in for a great time! I agree with the posters above. I think a table is definitely the way to go. The VIP passes you mention sound very general and it's very likely won't deliver on what is promised. Seems like everyone is Vegas is on a guest list or knows someone, with a table booked through a reputable host you are going to get a true VIP service. I recommend jackcolton.com for suggestions on hosts, especially using the message board for reviews.

    - Most clubs are going to attract a young crowd so I wouldn't worry too much about the demographic.
    - Dress code you described is good, if you have a table you are have a spot to take off your jacket

Awesome responses, thank you very much. I'm in the process of getting more info. on the passes so I know what to expect, and will get with the others to decide which club(s) to
get table service to. Great tip on the host Triple, I didn't think of that one.

Once again, thank you Triple, KPS and Tim. I found out the club they have us at Friday is Hyde at Bellagio. We have a Table which is part of the VIP package I guess and we are working directly with a bouncer. Working on plans for Saturday night, looking into getting a table at Drai's since it is convenient to our hotel. Totally looking forward to my visit, your opinions were a great help!!!!
