I have been on fremont many times but never really ventured away from the canopy area

Walking from lets say golden nugget how far is it to go to the Container park?

Will there be signs indicating the way? If not whats the way

Im very tempted to go on saturday since i found out Nicolas Cage will be there for an event

Then stop in and have some fun at the El Cortez across the street.

As others have said it's an easy walk. After you leave the canopy it will be in the 3rd block (El Cortez in the the second block). It's a cool place to see.

actually it is in the 4th block away from the canopy. The first block from the canopy is the neonopolis and the zip line, the next block is the one with the clubs and game place (insert coins) and the art restaurant, the next block is the EC and the block after that is the container park. Not a problem, only an extra minute or two with the traffic light to get there.

The place was super easy to find it was a bit tougher to get out cause there was a guy with a knife yelling at the sky and the cops( at least 10) showed up locked us in for 30 minutes or so they were pointing shotgun at the guy hiding behind their car and trying to reason with him it was quite a show , choppers the whole thing

I went there to see Nicolas Cage and he showed up and was super nice i took 10-12 pictures of him, he signed 2 things for me there were 50 people at the most there for the event ( saturday afternoon)

I thought of you when I read about the guy with the knife. I was pretty sure it was the same day you said you were going and wondered how you made out. Glad to hear it all worked out and that there was a light crowd so you were able to enjoy the chance to meet him.

Just curious, why was Nicolas Cage there? Was he promoting something?

The event was an anti bullying event called OATH las vegas( One Act Today Heals) i have no clue how they managed to get him as this was a very small time event but he didnt promote anything, he just took the stage to talk for a couple of minutes and sat down at a table they had set up for him, people lined up to talk to him shake hands get autographs

Thanks for the info, that's pretty neat. I'm often surprised by the people they get there. I guess OATH is special to him.

Shortly after the container park opened, Sheryl Crow played a concert there for a Feed the Children event. Someone downtown must have some good negotiating skills to bring them in for such a small crowd. It's good for us anyhow!

I was there at that time with 2 laundry bags. i had stopped in to see the changes from the last time I visited. that incident really delayed me. But I should have known better , man really disappointed, i didnot know about the Nicolas Cage event. I ended up leaving at the back exit.

I think Bungadin was being a little facetious - I got a chuckle out of it....
