The $500 CET gift card is no more for 1 credit.

The site has changed to a $500 Folio Credit for Nevada properties.
    No more shopping allowed.

    Here is how it reads:

    $500 Nevada Property Folio Credit
Treat yourself on your next visit to one of our fabulous Nevada properties with a $500 folio credit. Dine at any of our celebrity chef restaurants or relax at the spa.

Folio credit good for food, beverage and spa at any of our Nevada properties in Lake Tahoe, Reno, Laughlin and Las Vegas.

My play in Vegas usually covers all my room charges, so the Folio credit is not a good choice.

What have others on the board used their credits for?

I have quite a few credits I tried to convert before the site changed but have no confirmation it was done.

Someone was complaining on another site that the gift cards were useless to them because they couldn't use them in the Apple Store and other mall outlets. Don't forget that they have the catalog where you can redeem points for merchandise. It's probably not a good exchange rate but it's probably better than the rate to convert for cash.

That sucks. I was planning to use my experience credits for 3-4 gift cards and specifically for use in Atlantic City (spa treatments, some merchandise, .e.g, Vera Bradley bags, etc.) as I usually get everything comped off in Vegas. That really sucks. ARGH.

Does anyone know if you can gift an experience? For example, for 2 experience credits you can get gas free for a year (up to $80 a month). I'm wondering if I could gift that to a family member. I am also wondering whether you could indeed charge merchandise to your room and have that covered by the folio credit?

I received confirmation that I was approved for 6 gift cards. You might still try to cash the credits in.

To give someone you gas reward you would have to give them your FRN card.

We will not know about charging merchandise to the room until some tries it and posts.

I have two gift cards and was planning on getting another one. I like the gift card because it has no expiration date. You do need to use it within twelve months or you pay a fee. The $500 folio needs to be used in Nevada. Does that mean if you get the $500 you have to use it before 3/31/2015?

I suspected this wouldn't last. Shopping at Kitson, gratuities, and wine in states where alcohol cannot be comped? Sounded a little too good to be true. I'm going to try to order 2 more gift cards as I have found them very useful for the above and also for buying meals at CP when not staying or playing there.

The experiences do have to be used by 3/31 of next year. I suspect business at Guy Savoy and Qua will pick up in March when some players head in to town to blow large amounts of these folio credits (if they let you redeem them all at once)

That is exactly what I like about them. Comp without triggering a gaming day.

Unfortunately, it may be exactly what CET does not like about them!

Aaron, I just went online to try and order the gift cards and can't do. . . ARGH!!!!!! They of course took the gift card info down from the seven stars webpage but by googling CET gift card I got some info, but not a contact number. Instead, I only saw that I could purchase them online. These experience credits are much less valuable to me now then they were just a few days ago . . .

    AN IMPORTANT UPDATE:

I am pretty sure this is new language with respect to the folio credit, which now has a T&C that says "Limit one redemption per Seven Stars member." So I'm annoyed again. I had planned to use 3 experience credits for $1500 worth of folio credits for my upcoming 9-day trip to Vegas and then not be concerned at all about what my host may or may not comp off. Now the most I can do is $500.

This is my first year becoming Seven Stars and it is good through March of 2016. For me, becoming Seven Stars is "worth it" but there is a small marginal value for me in earning any experience credits (so anything beyond 150k tier credits) given my lack of interest in experiences offered, in some cases their marginal value (e.g., 2 credits covers 2 comped Colosseum show tix + $400 dining credit + up to 4 nights, which I'd get as a practical matter anyway) and now the elimination of the gift card option and even a limitation on the Nevada folio credit option.

VERY disappointing, almost like they are trying to get 7 stars not to play anymore this year...

I didn't start off the year going for 7 Stars, but after 9 days of play I was close enough to finish it off. I agree, it's just not worth the extra points for the experiences. I get far more value by spreading my play around town resulting in offers from other casinos.

Honestly, I was so disappointed with 7 Stars when I got it back in 2006 that I said I would never get it again, but I thought they might have figured things out since then (it was early in the program in 2006). It's very disappointing to see them basically renege on a stated benefit that people have worked for (e.g., Flowers earning several extra credits she planned on using for gift cards). Once they publish a benefit, it should be required to be in place for the remainder of that benefit year.

    ANOTHER UPDATE:

Since yesterday, the $500 Folio Credit experience has been further modified to provide that the $500 Folio Credit can be used for food, beverage or spa at a Nevada city OR Atlantic City. Limit is one folio credit per city. (I believe they mean Atlantic City or ONE of the Nevada cities.) It makes the folio credit a tad more appealing, and that's assuming I can use the credit in AC for a merchandise purchase at the Caesars shop (there's Pandora, Vera Bradley and other brands in the Caesars AC shop).

Food, beverage, or spa -- doesn't sound like they'll let you use it for merchandise purchases.
