Gambling Style: More Often with Smaller $ / Less Often with More $$$

How would you rather gamble:

A.) Every weekend with $250

B.) Once a month with $1000

C.) Once every six months with $6000

D.) Once a year with $12,000

?

I'll reserve my answer until later...

 

I like all of these choices for different reasons, but I'd go with B because I can play $5 craps for a long time on $1,000.

 

This year it will be 6 trips to Vegas with a 2k budget each time. I don't think I could go 6 months without gambling. I'm not willing to give decent action to the tribal casinos.

 

I prefer to do almost all of the above. I will usually have 1-2 big trips a year with a 10K+ budget. I also will do about 3-4 trips a year with a 2.5K-5K budget. I also will have a few times where I am just driving by a casino and will stop in for a few hour 1K session.

 

I went with option 3 but really, that's not frequent enough for me. I try to make it out every 2-3 months...

 

Three times a year would be my max for a number of different reasons.
For now its simply twice a year.

 

I would be very happy with the third option.

I'd be happy to supply my name & address if you're willing to send me a couple of checks a year.

I went in for 6K at 6 months. I'm probably 3K every three months, myself. I try to make it a holiday, apart from the gambling, so 1K and below can be (and often is) one bad day, so that means low playing all those nice offers I get.

 

E) $3000 every three months!

 

2 trips to vegas each year.

gamble maybe $200 tops and thats pushing it.

 

I pretty much do gamble once an month on a $1,000 bank-roll, through very seldom do I use it all... couple nights of VP and a few slots for 2-3 hours is good for me.

 

This is what I would want, but with a 1 year old at home even every 6 months is a challenge.

Been there done that, I like to gamble to much to do this, unless my current financial situation makes a huge change.

 

If those were my only choices I'd go with B, once a month with 1k. Having the time and opportunity to go is more important than the money, especially since the overall amount of money is the same anyway you might as well enjoy yourself more often. Only reason I didn't choose A is because going weekly seems like overkill and might get boring.

Probably once a month with $1000.. My budget is closer to $500 every 2 months haha . But I am definitely in the camp of going to Vegas more often, even if that means spending less money...

BUT, tempting to go with C, as I think that would bring me in more comps.. so making the trips I do have better. But, what would be the point of all the comps if you can only go twice a years?

 

I would love to get my ADT up and go only a couple of times a year, but I can't stay away that long so I reduce my overall limit. My brain says C, but my heart says B. But my limit is typically around 3k every two-months.

 

The world is a big place, with many great places to visit. Vegas is one of them, but only one. I like getting comped, too, and that is easier to achieve when you make more of a splash. So I'll take option D.
