Thanks Kkirk and billduhcat. KyleB, I couldn't believe it when I started checking paytables. I am so used to being disappointed checking out a place that is known to have bad paytables and hoping maybe to find a good one. Everywhere I turned, they'd been improved. So it was pretty cool to be the first one to notice. They hadn't done any PR on it at all and it had been a couple of weeks according to my host! They are using it as a marketing draw now, and this is spilling over to the Plaza. It's nice to see downtown still giving customers a good gamble.

Thanks Bre, and sorry about your trip. I certainly know how it feels. I will be approaching the next trip a little differently. For one thing, I've had good luck playing BJ and craps to even things out, and I didn't do that at all this trip.

You forgot to add Aces kicker on JoB to your "cavalcade of disappointment". Get one of them on dollars, you are in much better shape. All my horrible sessions seem to be like this. Playing something like deuces and get 4 Aces, etc.

And considering how bad it looked like you ran, having half of your expenses valued in comps isn't too bad. If I can only get the g/f more into DT...:grrr:

Hope to read better results next trip!

BTW - KyleB - yes, I got another offer similar to the first - 2 nights, $75 resort credit.

I think thats why I only play DDB. In the end you can play at the best playtable machines but if its not meant to be, you're gonna get slaughtered. You certainly took it a lot better than I would have. The amount of fucked up luck you encountered this trip was pretty epic. Hopefully you got it all out of your system and will be rewarded with a $2 royal per day on your next trip. Thanks for taking us along for the ride :)

Thanks for another highly entertaining trip report. Really appreciate you taking the time to write this one up, even though it's gotta be tough to write up a losing trip. That has to be good karma for some of your upcoming trips though, right?

I was happy to read that Kenny was OK. What a miserable time for him.

Sorry you got such a beat down, that makes it a lot harder to write. But we all appreciate the report. Next trip take squid, and do a double blog. You would most likely lose more money, but it would be a hell of a trip.
    Thanks again.

Can we expect the next batch of posts in November? Are you heading back for Halloween again this year?

I would hate to speculate, as the gynecologist said.

Hahahahahaha, I have to remember this one. You had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Really enjoyed you trip report and writing style. Wish you had more success with the VP but I guess sometimes you are the windshield, sometimes you are the bug applies here. Thanks for sharing.

Fun to read trip report as always. I hope you have better luck next time.

Also, good job with the comps. You're obviously scoring a lot more than I am with a similar level of play.I need to quit using my card during the short sessions.

Have you tried only playing 9/6 JOB or better over the course of a whole trip? Some of those pay tables would make me run, not walk for the exit.

As always Flusher, a fun read!

Unusual, unless I missed it, but not one reference to your older Hawaiian female "friends" at Cal. And also, not one reference to Kelli or the morning bartender at MSS lining you up with your favorite morning drink!

Flusher another awesome read, you sir are a Vegas legend. That is, if by legend you mean the sorta guys like Tommy LaRue one of the old restroom attendants at Barbary Coast or Big Ernie one of the regular vagrants I run into on the strip. Ehem never mind. Sorry about your losses, however still a very entertaining read. This kept me entertained the past week and was the highlight of my evening. Maybe we can start a chip in campaign for you and Jimmy Poon for an end of year blow out, now that would be an Epic-ally savvy trip report!

I never thought 9/6 JOB was much fun but at the dollar level, for me, it is pretty fun. I am definitely leaning in that direction. I think with DDB you either should play it a LOT or not play it. You have to play enough to get to the good hands and in the short term you can get reamed.

I am still regularly getting less free play than the quad queen at Four Queens, I strongly suspect this is because of screwing my daily average on previous trips by dropping in and playing short sessions.

Now I basically treat every casino like they base comps on your daily average and structure my play accordingly. Sometimes this means playing without a card in for short periods. If I don't particularly care about returning to a place, and I get a teaser comp, I'm not worried about short-playing them. But the places where we get the bulk of our offers, we're pretty careful with now. I think that helps get the most out of it.

Thanks macwip. Definitely the bug this time.
