I think they are doing stuff at Harrah's if I remember right. Seems Paris is being left out or will be getting a real big makeover. Not sure.

IP was the ultimate "guy trip" hotel, especially before they implemented resort fees.

Super cheap, in the very middle of the action, walking distance from basically everywhere on the Strip, lively/fun atmosphere most of the time, some cheap gambling, etc.

And regardless of what people say about it, our basic room was perfectly clean and suitable for that type of trip. In fact, we were both surprised at how clean it was considering the price we paid at the time and the awful reviews it always gets. I think the worst thing about it was that the balcony door didn't latch properly, but even the bathroom was clean and functional.

As someone who used it for exactly that type of trip in the past, I will miss that part of it. BUT I also always look forward to new or remodeled places to check out and as a married man don't really see myself using a place like the IP any more. If I was early 20's and single, I'd be upset that I didn't have that option anymore.

That is dead on PSM! Myself and my other friends from when we were in our "Cheap 20's" feel the same way.

The Linq is replacing the Quad which replaced the IP. The new Linq Hotel/Casino (with newly remodeled rooms), opens in a couple of weeks: http://www.caesars.com/thelinq

I will be at the Linq starting November 1st for a week. I have stayed there my last 4 trips and have never had a problem. Yeah it needed the upgrade but I only needed the room to sleep a few hours and shower. Casino floor looked great to me last year when I was there. Sad they got rid of the dealertainers. The elevators were not the best but if you knew how to get around you could avoid that and get around that hassle and find an empty one. This trip is comped but looking at next year like May I would have to pay for a room here when I could get comped at Flamingo and other Cet casinos. So I will have to see how this trip goes and if I have to pay for a room. I will always take a free room so I have more to gamble.

OMG I will be on a trip overlapping with the infamous Gaggles? I'll be doing 2 Phish shows at MGM and the rest of the type sports betting/Bartops. Maybe I'll run into you crazy cats.

Both PH and Paris are going to be renovated. Thank god PH is going to fix up the pool area.

Where did you see that? I'd like to read about it. They have been saying that about Paris for at least 5 years.

I knew CET had to do something with all that blue paint sitting in the basement at PHo, that never got used from the Aladdin Remodel. Who says CET isn't a savvy company with good money management skills, dying to see what they do with the [STRIKE]Quad[/STRIKE] Linq bathrooms.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't the original CW's at Imperial Palace wear blue kimono's way back in prehistoric times?
I remember hanging around the bar just to see the blue kimono's with the slit way the hell up.
    They were like Blue Geisha's......LOL.
This is back in the 80's, before they added the extensions out to the Strip or soon after.
    Looks like the same Blue.
