Ouch! I would check fares from Dayton. They are almost always a lot less than Cincinnati.

So you paid around 250 per pax for a roundtrip? Doesn't seem too bad.

Southwest out of Indy is $797 round trip for 2 passengers (non-stop on both legs). I live in Cincy, and when my husband and I go to Vegas in April, we'll most likely be flying out of Indy.

You might want to check Frontier out of Cincy, I ran some random dates in April and it was coming back at $448 for two passengers round trip. Looks like they have some good fares.

I've been paying that to fly out of CMH for one, so that's really a pretty good deal. How do you think Allegiant will stack up against the competition?

I think Frontier will have an edge on Allegiant. Although Frontier will nickel and dime you now like Allegiant, I think Frontier's planes are nicer and they provide just a little higher quality of service. I'm flying Frontier out of Cleveland in a couple of weeks (my aunt bought me a Frontier gift card so I have to use it), anyway I will let everyone know what I think of them. Also Spirit just announced non-stop service out of Cleveland to Las Vegas starting in February 2015. I won't fly them I think they are even below Allegiant.

Yeah, compared to the $800 I was seeing most of the time. I almost thought about flying out of Detroit, because of the cost.

I'm sort of following this with a little bemusement because I started working on my flight for 11/14-11/7 about a month ago out of GRB. Without being too picky about when in the morning I left or where I connected, I could've done it for around $500. But I decided I was going to be absolutely stubborn and HAD to fly with my sis and BIL. So...yeah, that became an $830 flight. Haha. The only good part? Delta offered an upgrade to First for $115. (Which gets me no baggage fees, so basically, with 1 bag each way, the upgrade cost $65. WOO!)

Thing is, I've been watching flights since then and whether I look at the same dates or even out to April, the cheapest flights are still $475-525. It's always going to be tough flying from small, regional airports like GRB. We can try ATW, too, but it's really not a whole lot cheaper. ATW is close to my house, but it's still about 1/2 hr. I live in GRB's glideslopes...so it's like 8 minutes away).
