WAX

I assume and hope the Wax buses are still running.
They are such a good way to get downtown in recent time and are only $1.00 if your over 65, $2.00 if you not
so they are very inexpensive.

I saw one downtown two weeks ago.

 

Yep, saw it on Sept 15th. Greatest addition to RTC since we started riding it years ago. Great way to get to and from DT.

 

We used the WAX to get from the airport on Sept 14th and took it back on Sept 18th. For the price of $2.00 and around 35 minutes we were delivered in comfort to downtown. Same for our return back to the airport. This was the best deal we got on our trip and it's unbelievable how empty the buses are leaving the airport.

We even took the Wax to get to the South side of the strip one day. It was so much quicker than using the Deuce (This will only work if you're heading south strip, otherwise grab the SDX or duece).

 

If you happen to miss the WAX, you can also catch the CX at terminal 3 to get downtown. Same $2 fare

 

How much longer does it take on the CX to get downtown? And does it drop you off at the same stop by the Walgreens?

 

About 10 extra minutes on the CX. Yes, it drops at 4th @ Carson (by the Walgreens).

 

Thanks jimboguy. My flight lands at about 7:07pm, and the WAX leaves at 7:23pm. So, good to know I can grab the CX at about 7:50pm.

 

I'm going to be at Cosmo and would like to take the WAX to downtown. Where should I take it? I think there's a stop by NYNY but not sure where.

 

The WAX stop you want for going downtown is by the corner of Tropicana and LV Blvd. Just turn right when you get to Tropicana and you'll see the stop, which is also shared with the 201. The stop is also very close to the NYNY entrance by registration in case you decide to cut through NYNY or need to kill a little time.

 

Sounds like nice timing. Just be sure to keep in mind that the CX only departs from airport Terminal 3, whereas you can catch the WAX to downtown from either Terminal 1 or 3.

 

Took the WAX 7:19am to the airport Tuesday. 26 minutes

 

Should have looked at this one first instead of the other one. Do you know how long it takes to get from 1 to 3? I think I'm flying into 1 on Allegiant.
