I know we have a thread on best valve buffets. What's the worst and best tasting buffets you've eaten???

For me....the best has been Belaggio. But I still haven't tasted the new Bachannal buffet. But that's my best so far.

Worst was Golden Nugget lunch. Absolutely disgusting. Looked like hospital food. I even managed to get sick off salad, which is all I ate. But I think it was actually the dressing. This was about a year ago.

Pho also wasn't good at all either. But that was about 4 years ago. Not sure about now.

Bachannal is good, but in my mind no better than Spice market was 5 years ago. That might be nostalgia, but I think they will never be amazing places to eat.

However, if you didn't like the latter 4 years ago you'll probably like it less now. I think it has gone downhill a lot.

I had Bachannal a few days after it opened and unless it's gone downhill I think it was the best by far beating out Wynn and Bellagio.

The worst...this is easy...The Excalibur. I left that buffet hungry. Enough said. Made the IP taste like high end dining.

Worst tasting...Gold Coast, South Point....5 yrs ago MGM. I agree Monte Carlo is nothing to brag about either. Bellagio lunch I only liked the sliders, Wynn was a few years ago and all I remember is that I didn't recognize anything. Mirage was decent as was Harrahs and Silverton. I refuse to spend the $$ on Bachannal, Wicked Spoon or Wynn again. Haven't been to Spice Market in 3 years but it was hit and miss back then...we loved it one day and hated it the next. Same goes for the Rio.

We ate at these buffets two weeks ago and all were excellent.

The Palms (Sat. seafood dinner and Sunday brunch)

    Harrahs (lunch)

    Golden Nugget (breakfast into lunch)

    Best, Bellagio.

Worst, Excalibur and I hate to say it. We stayed at Excalibur on our first trip to Vegas in 1995, back then we really enjoyed the buffet. Recently we ate there free via myVegas, not good, not even worth free.

edit to add, MSS is very good.

The bellagio was probably the best buffet I've ever had. I was really a fan of the spice market buffet and whatever rio's buffet used to be called several years ago. I haven't been to the Rio in years but I thought spice market had fallen to average if not below territory last time I ate it.

Spice market after being my favorite for a long time was probably the worst I've had. The golden nugget buffet (5-7 years ago) was nothing to write home about. Thankfully I've never gotten sick or had any blue mashed potato type incidents. I try very hard not to eat at those types of places.

Golden Nugget here gets another vote for horrible. Made me sick.

Orleans a close second to the Nugget. Why people stand in line to eat there is beyond my comprehension.

Love Wicked Spoon but way over priced.

Mandalay Bay is probably my favorite. Reasonable, nice variety. Or the Aria lunch, not dinner buffet. Better food at lunch.

Our experience with buffets is very limited. We've done the Flamingo, MGM, and Paris for breakfast on multiple occasions. Believe it or not, the Flamingo is pretty decent, very consistent. However overall Paris won out.

I don't think we've ever done lunch or dinner at a buffet, we tend to do bars/clubs or just grab something on the go for lunch, and prefer normal dinning for dinners.

With that being said, I'm desperately hoping the Sterling Brunch will continue on Saturdays.

Best Bellagio - had for lunch. MGM had a very good breakfast buffet.

I have been to Paris for lunch twice. The first time great. We ate there again last year and it was awful -- The prime rib was greasy. The truffle macaroni and cheese was also a grease pit.

Absolute Worst - Luxor - breakfast. I really thought you could not screw up eggs, hash browns, and toast -- apparently you can. The bright side was that they had excellent coffee.

I have also been to Mirage, Harrah's and Flamingo and they were decent for the price (had 2 for 1's and made a quick easy meal)

The Stratosphere breakfast buffet was decent for the price. Monte Carlo dinner, forget that place. Excalibur did have unlimited red raspberries.
Mirage, if you live in a foreign country, you might really like it. I dont. desserts leave a lot to be desired and I do not like pizza at $35.

BEST: Sterling Brunch. Although we haven't tried the Sterling since the changeover. Will try again when we return in November.

WORST: Palms. The Army puts out better food.
