    My Trip Report

Trip Report – Just the facts – 9/19-9/21
I like trip reports that just help other travelers and tell about great hits. I don’t need to know how your flight was or if you get tunneled.

    FOOD

Went to Capriottis on W. Sahara. Very good Philly cheesesteak. Raised in Philly.
Mon Ami Gabi, Paris. Just the best place for early morning breakfast. The outside patio is a must. Good food, great coffee and great view. Watching the late, late night party goers slowly going back to their room. The calmness of the morning hours. Get there when it opens (7am) and you will have no problem getting a patio seat. Even on a Fri. or Sat.
Bouchon, Venetian, 10th floor. Great breakfast. Nice patio but not much of a view. Buildings and empty pool area.
Binions café, good burger that comes with potato salad. Interesting people watching place. While there get your free picture with the million dollars.
Gordon Ramsey, Paris. Go to the bar and order the Sticky Toffee Pudding. Can’t explain, just do it. Wow.

    ATTRACTIONS

Mob Museum Downtown, Great museum. Will take about 2 hours. Very nice. Worth the admission.
Freemont Experience, The people watching capital. Canopy show is great. Best street entertainers in LV. All kind of strange characters. Live bands are good. Park in Binions parking garage and get your ticket stamped at restaurants or while gambling. Good for 3 free hours. Not much free parking downtown anymore.
Bellagio, Conservatory & Botanical Gardens. Always a good flower display. Bellagio is another good people watching place. This is different than Downtown. Here you watch people who have money and dress nice and people who are in LV to live the Fantasy of being rich. It is sometimes obvious who is wearing J.C. Penney and who is wearing Armani or Gucci. But is OK to pretend.

    GAMBLING

This was a solo trip and I spent most of my time in the Poker rooms and Sports Book. No good Poker stories. Sunday NFL was fantastic. Hit 4-team parleys, 3-team parleys and flat bets. I was invited to a CET $150,000 Poker Tournament. Again no good story, but they gave me free rooms, so I guess that is a good story.

    Hotel – Bally’s

I don’t know why Bally’s is one of the cheapest casinos in the CET group. The Jubilee rooms are all remodeled and the Indigo rooms are some of the biggest standard rooms in LV. You can stay inside and walk to Paris, so it is two casinos in one.
I’m a Platinum card holder thanks to the TR Visa card, not because of my play. Arrived Friday at 10am. They have a registration line just for Platinum players. It was empty. About 35 people in the regular line. I show my Drivers license, TR visa card and Platinum card. I don’t expect to be checked in at 10am on a Friday. Clerk states she has a nice room for me in the Indigo tower and as a platinum player she will upgrade me to a Diamond floor. Very nice. This is the 3rd time at Bally’s they have upgraded me, at no charge, because I am a Platinum player. Last trip I got one of the new Jubilee rooms. I asked for a room so I wouldn’t hear the Drai nightclub. I got it. Out the elevator, sign says “Diamond floor”. Room is large, clean with a coffee machine. No view, but very quiet. Very modern with couch & coffee table. Also a separate granite top desk. Granite counters in bathroom. Safe in closet.

Very nice and relaxing trip. Solo trips are great. No waiting for others, no conflict on what to do.
Next trip is Super Bowl weekend with the boys. Thanks for reading. I hope I’ve given you some ideas for your trip.

    Tjoe,
    Great TR, nice and compact.
You're the second person recently to say good things about the Mob Museum. We have it on the to-do list for our next trip.
Thanks for taking the time to share.
