    My Trip Report

All my planning for this trip went out the window as soon as I arrived at the hotel. I arrived at VIP checkin for my Luxury Room at the Agustus Tower. The desk clerk's first comment was "there are so many notes on your reservation I don't understand what you want". I explained my needs (a wheelchair due to my crutches and I nixed the scooter idea due to the space issues at restaurants. I further explained that I booked a promotional deal for two free buffet of buffet tickets included in the room price. When I asked for the coupons for the buffet I was told that I would have to pay full price for the two 24 hour access tickets and upgrade cost if I chose Ceasars buffet and they would work it out refunding the charge at checkout (????????????????). I've never heard of dealing with promotions in this manner. I refused the upgrade I had initially opted for when I saw the distance from Octavius Tower to the casino.

I asked the desk where the total rewards line was located as I needed a card printing before I would gamble. The clerk told me she would take care of that and print a card for me and my companion. I was so hot and tired from the flight from the east coast and the issues with the prepaid shuttle and the second purchase of a different shuttle fare. The first never showed up and I was told the second one would be a one or two hour wait. This was not going to happen as we would have to wait with the luggage in que with no place for me to sit down. I ended up with a limo and it was worth every cent.

We were told none of the rooms would be available, I offered to purchase early checkin at this point just to have a shower and a change of clothing. It still would be hours before a room was available. We then decided to have lunch at the buffet and then try our luck at the casino. We were charged $69.00 each for luinch plus a 15.00 upgrade fee (????? remember our promotion for a free pass in our Total Rewards promotion?). TBC

Hoping your fortunes change, but I gotta be honest, I couldn't imagine a worse property than Caesar's for anyone with mobility issues.

In reading this, I am not sure what you expected but it doesn't really sound like Caesars did anything wrong or that should have led to your trip being ruined...

    Checking in:
It sounds like you have special needs and when you checked in there were notes on your reservation and they asked you what you needed. Thats pretty normal because the alternative would have been for you to stand there while they read and sort through the notes, arrive at their own interpretation of what you need and then confirm it with you and if anything is wrong have you tell them what you need... by just asking you what you need speeds things up, plus your needs might have changed since the reservation was made

    Room upgrade:
Nothing they did wrong there: you bought the upgrade, they provided it, you changed your mind because of the distance. As said above: Caesars is one of the worst choices for the mobility impaired due in part to the sheer size of the place and for how some hotel rooms are so far back from everything.

    Room availability:
This might have stemmed from your special needs and the notes on your reservation, but unfortunately if a room isn't available for you then a room isn't available for you. Yes, it is a big place with lots of hotel rooms, but at that point you had already nixed the idea of the upgrade so they were putting you where you requested.

    Buffet of Buffet coupons:
There aren't any coupons. As you said, this was your first trip to Las Vegas and in Las Vegas thats how comps and things like this work: you charge them to your room and then when you check out they apply any specials, promotions or discounts you have on your reservation to your room charges and also if you have earned any comps from gambling they will apply those then as well too.

    Buffet of Buffet upgrade cost:
Yes, they charge a premium for using the Buffet of Buffet promotion at Caesars' buffet. They've been doing that since the Caesars buffet reopened.

    Total Rewards Card:
They printed the card for you right there, saved you from having to go stand in line at the Total Rewards booth... so nothing wrong there.

    Shuttle problems:
What happened with the shuttle isn't their fault at all.

This was only my first couple of hours at Ceasars, TBC -To Be Continued. Trust me it gets better. I used to review hotels for government contract rates I believe in giving them every opportunity to correct issues, especially managers as customer relations is their job. Maybe if you continue to follow this thread you will understand my disappointment and frustration. In their defense they eventually straightened everything out (twelve hours before checkout, with not even an apoilogy for the inconvenience).

In reading this I totally agree, I actually thought Caesars did fairly well.

Sorry your trip started off badly but I have to agree as well. I don't see how Caesars was wrong here... Part of it might be because it was your first trip based on the thread and you didn't have the right expectations? Early check-in is never guaranteed and the buffet thing is normal; especially for Caesars Bacchanal where there is an upcharge to include it in the buffet of buffets. You can't hold Caesars responsible because you were hot and tired from your flight or the issues you had with the shuttle unless there's more to come on that.

Hopefully the rest of your trip did go better.

Why don't we let the review finish his/her review, before we share our opinions.

I would prefer such reviews be copied and pasted in their entirety prior to responses to the initial few hours. It would appear the trip is over so why piece meal the report? Just me observing and not attempting judgement on poster or treatment received.

I didn't know that you had to pay for the buffets first, as he said he was charged 69 dollars each.. good for me to know!

Well, normally yes... the problem is that there wasn't anything in the first post to indicate that there was more to come, that what they wrote wasn't the extent of their complaints/issues/problems.

I'll still stand by what I said for the first part, that so far there really isn't any problems there and that Caesars has been acting pretty good overall.

No, you don't pay: you just have to charge it to your room, which might seem like paying, but not really.

I'm in. But I must say I read your initial post and can't seem to understand how the shuttles can be blamed with your unhappiness with Caesars. I'm sorry you were hot and tired from the trip from the east coast but again, it seems you are blaming Caesars for this. Or the way you wrote it seems that way.

    Hope your trip got better.

Yes, I will reserve my opinions of the op's post after he/she has finished, however I must report my wonderful week we had at Caesars a couple months ago. The upgrade they graciously provided to the Augustus tower was very much appreciated. Those two towers are the high end accomodations at Caesars in my opinion. I just acquired the platinum status (on my own) during that week and I must admit, CET does make all attempts to assure the higher total rewards status holders special treatment. It was especially helpful at the Bachanal buffet check in for the wait time for dinner that night was at least 45 minutes to an hour but that kiosk system looked like it eased the waiting process a lot. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Caesars and have nothing negative to report but that does not belittle the op's situation for I'am very interested in hearing the rest of the story.

    Shuttle?

Really? There is a small group of people here that would do the shuttle.

    Long flight. Mobility issues.

Taxi is not much different in cost and it gets you there. Or as you found out, a limo does it for a bit more.

Sorry, but some of the upfront issues were caused by people OTHER than Caesars.
