Rocker is an incredible dick, but he sure has a hot girlfriend.

Glad to see one of the annoying twins go first. I couldn't stand them on Amazing Race.

My early favorite is the Boston fireman. Already showed how much he wants to win. I think he's smart and has guts.

    Some really decent eye candy.

I don't do Amazing Race, but all the time I kept thinking that one of them would be one of the first to go.

I think the cop/firefighter couple will have a decent chance in this go-round.

The first few weeks of Survivor always seem so tedious to me. Too many people, too little screentime for us to truly get to know who is who.

I think the first episode was good, as far as first episodes go...

Definitely agree with the first vote off.
That firefighter is making too many alliances.
People who move too strong too quickly tend to get voted off, but he may last a few weeks as they need his strength.

I kinda liked the twins. They have spunk. Have to admit though, it took me half of the Amazing Race before I figured out they were likable.

On another Vegas related note, I saw this posted on The D's facebook page:

Two of our newest additions to the team here at #theD are also contestants on this season of Survivor 29: San Juan del Sur – Blood vs Water! Watch Jaclyn Schultz and Jon Misch in the season premiere tonight at 8/7c on CBS! Next time you’re here at the D, say hi and take a photo with them. We’re looking forward to a great season with these two!

Rocker is huge. i cant imagine that guy throwing a fastball at my head. Look at him standing next to the others. Impressive.

That said, i already am pulling for him to do well on the show. I dont think he will because he will be too physical and they will have to ditch him so the weaklings have a chance. shame.

The best season of survivor was when the grey haired fireman won. he was the most physical one and clearly the guy who could actually survive the best. I think his name was Tom.

I haven't watched Survivor for a number of years... I get too burned-out on following things after investing the time into Big Brother. My family got me to watch (DVR'd) the season opener. I guess I'll be OK with a once a week show vs. the 3 times a week of Big Brother. I liked the couple I now know has a connection to the D and I thought Rocker busted his ass physically for his team in that episode. It'll take a few shows to get into the characters of the show and decide who to root for, but I'm back in!

Yep, Rocker will provide great entertainment value. Hope he makes it to the finals and has a meltdown during the final jury council.

You are correct sir, his name was Tom. The thing I remember most about that season was that once the tribes merged he was such a target and he pulled off the near impossible by winning something like six individual immunity challenges in a row. IMHO, he was the most deserving Survivor winner ever.

Yes, Tom, he was one of the best Survivors. Up there with Boston Rob.

Wasn't that the year, right at the end, the young guy gave up immunity and then got voted off at the next Tribal Council?

Not to be a dick, but this news about the couple at the D should have come with a spoiler alert. Since the finale is live, we now know these two didn't make it. Don't be angry with me for pointing that out.

Didn't mean to post a spoiler Breeze. Maybe I haven't had enough coffee yet but what makes you think they didn't make it? I must be missing something here.

You are technically correct, I suppose. Since filming is done on this episode and they are sworn by penalty of forfeit to keep everything secret, they could be on the live finale. Sorry, I think that maybe I am wrong.

Carry on, no harm, no foul.

    Geez -
I had to do some thinking about "Breeze's" comment.
I forgot, the finale is LIVE.
Totally, forgot.......so there is no spoiler......but i had to think about it.
    *
Which couple are we talking about at The D ?
Is it the "All American" looking couple ?.....the guy played at Michigan or something ?
Sorry, it takes me about 5 episodes to figure out all the names of the contestants.
    *
So.......the two southern guys knew Rocker's face.
I have a feeling that Rocker will be portrayed as a "good guy" or a villain/idiot.
    Nothing in between.
He is in this season for a reason.....and he comes with baggage...for comments about NY + people.
"Survivor" always needs a villain -- I think he might be it.
His girlfriend ( or wife ?) definitely has had some "work" done......
or as Letterman once said, "More plastic than Cher !"
    *
    Remember --
The "Wallflowers" usually don't get edited into the season until midway.
So, if your picking a contestant winner -- you don't know that much about them, yet.
The contestants you DO know ( at this point) - ain't gonna make it.
    IMHO

    ^Correctomundo on all counts^

I had forgotten something. The redheaded young lawyer that won about 3 or 4 seasons ago? (The memory is the first thing to go).

He made an appearance at Quantico before that season ended and a co-worker had his picture taken with him. When he showed it to me I got bent of shape over it, claiming it ruined the season. That is when I was informed that the contestants are sworn to absolute secrecy and that the filming of the current season is long over. They have to sign an agreement that they will say nothing until the LIVE finale airs.

I had completely forgotten that when I made my comment to gambler. I gracefully submit my apology for being rambunctious.

    Rambunctious is good Breeze

I had to think about it too after I had enough coffee. All that's known on the final live telecast is who made it to the final three. Even those three don't know which one of them wins until the final jury votes are revealed that night.

Joe, I'm not really sure what couple they are. The only thing I remember about them from the first show was her gushing about how good looking he was. :confused2:

It will be interesting to watch tomorrow night.

So glad Survivor is back! I love watching them starve, work like crazy and bicker while I'm home on the couch with popcorn, a drink and a nice warm blanket. :p It's a family tv night at our house. The kids get really into it. Favorites so far are the cop/fireman couple. I'm hoping they'll go far in the game. As usual, there is an interesting bunch of contestants. Just for kicks we watched the first episode of Survivor on Netflix the other night. It was crazy to see how much has changed since then.
