I usually fly first (just a preference) but have still seen more than my share of animals on a plane... But this site... oy!!!

Who are these people? Where do they come from? And so glad most of them aren't on my flights. The commentary has brought me tons of laughter. An aside - I would lose my shit if someone behind me stuck their feet up alongside me.:nono::vomit:

Ah, the joys of flying. I see so many bare feet on planes I was starting to think it was socially acceptable.

Those are bad. My worst flight though was my first trip to China, last minute business trip and all they had was economy. Guy next to me had like a full blown case of Bronchitis. Again, before a 10 day business trip loaded with meetings. No other open seats and who would want to switch with me? I am a good flyer, but I basically spent the next 15 hours having a panic attack thinking about being sick in a new country. I covered myself on his side with a blanket but couldn't even nap with every cough.

My first trip to Johannesburg (2004) non-stop from JFK was in Coach, way in the back. I had a window seat. Plane was ready to go. No one sitting next to me when a final passenger boards. She is enormous. At least 350 lbs. And tries to sit next to me. She overhung by a wide margin and this was a 17 hour flight. The A340 had empty seats blocked out and the attendants wouldn't let either of use move, saying they didn't meet US evacuation standards or some other BS. When it came to lousy meal time (and free booze time!) she gets up and just moves, telling them to shove their US standards and that she and I were both uncomfortable! And if they didn't like it, turn the plane around!

They let her have an entire row!

She was very nice, very apologetic about her size and while I was uncomfortable I was reasonable and understanding.

Now, with 2.5 Million miles on Delta and over another million on the other airlines I have seen:

Another enormous guy in First who pissed his pants. This was on a Las Vegas flight out of JFK. Saw him walking around the terminal, clearly he had done so already, people were pointing. Either he didn't know or didn't care. Can anyone say "Depends"? I felt very sorry for him.

Too many people fart and just don't care. I flew from Atlanta to Las Vegas this year and a couple in front of me sounded and smelled like they were returning from winning the couples competition at an onion soup eating contest. There's a lavatory folks, use it.

Why do the talkative ones have halitosis? I carry mouthwash with me as I am very self conscious. And mints. I offer them the second before the first.

I paid for the seat and I will lean back if I want! I saw two guys in First, involving the one next to me, get in a tussle over this. The guy in 4A turned all the air vents on the back of the guy's neck in 3A because he leaned his seat back. The Flight attendants got involved. Issue solved when I switched seats (I was in 3B) with the guy. Delta sent me 15,000 miles for my assistance.

Poor behavior tolerated at home is brought into schools, hotels, restaurants, airplanes, casinos - all public places. We can't do much about it except tolerate it, deal with it, shame it (love the pictures of Walmart shoppers that pop up elsewhere) and go about our business!

And have a good laugh! Thanks for sharing!

I love the pictures and hope at least some get back to the critters who are the subjects. But WHY don't other passengers speak up??? I would not tolerate (for example) that hair, bare-chested dude next to me! Ask him to put his shirt on or demand assistance from FA. I would not hesitate to demand that a nose-picker go to the restroom and NOT emerge until hands are thoroughly washed. I travel with wet-ones and may also pick up a surgical mask after seeing these cretins.

I picked up a box of masks from a dollar store in san fran (thank you Daiso!). While not totally sterile at least it protects me from the basic stuff in the air.

One flight I took the person in back put his foot in between the chairs. I found out when I moved my arm to find...a foot in a sock! I turned around and looked at the guy and gave him the "don't do that" stare and he didn't do it again. If he had done it again I probably would have jammed my elbow down on his foot, the guy wasn't big, he was totally slouching. How rude! :grrr:

Once I had a guy, right after the plane took off he raised the arm rest and proceeded to encroach into my space. After a few minutes I lowered the arm rest and said that I wanted to use the arm rest. I went to the restroom, when I came back he again raised the arm rest and I again lowered it. I hate these selfish people who think they can encroach on other's space. The guy wasn't big at all but just wanted to "spread out". Karma intervened though, right before landing the guy had to go real badly. He tried to get up but the flight attendants kept telling him to sit down. He kept fidgeting, I thought he was going to crap in his pants :evillaugh. When the wheels touched down he again tried to get up and the flight attendants again told him to sit back down. When the plane stopped the guy practically flew out of his chair to go to the bathroom. The flight attendants gave me a smirk when I was leaving. What a dolt, he had a chance to go before final approach (I went) but he instead thought he could hold it, lol, guess he thought wrong!

My mom (in her mid 80's) is afraid of flying (5 to 6 hour flight from Hawaii to vegas) because of "accidents". I told her to use depends but she is embarrassed to have to use that.

I'm with you. Seriously. My feet swell a little when flying, so I wear some deck shoes, which can expand a little, without socks. Or I'll wear sneakers with no-show socks. As my feet get hot and swell a little, I consider taking my shoes off. I've done it before with socks on, but not barefoot yet. It's good to know that I shouldn't do it with bare feet.

Other behaviors that I am starting to think are socially acceptable:
Dropping my phone conversation for the one that just interrupted our conversation.
    Leaving earbuds in.
    Horrible spelling and other grammar.
    Wearing pajamas in public.

I learned a lesson in manners and humility this past week. We went to Universal Studios in Orlando. Our teenage boys were not pushy and let others walk in front of them. This was especially noticeable in the staging areas of the rides. We ended up in the back row of many rides because they were so courteous. I was antsy to get a good seat on the ride and I was proud of them and ashamed of myself for thinking a good seat, no, the BEST seat, was important.

I hate people. Everyone is such a narcissist they think they can do whatever they want. How about a little decency? Keep your darn shoes on, leave your dog at home, wear pants, and don't sleep on the airport floor! Is it really that hard? And these people are on a 2 hour flight to Denver, not a cross country expedition!

Not to mention, planes are SO tight and so uncomfortable these days, why make it worse on yourself? Just keep to yourself and your crap to a minimum.

I personally dislike the seat reclining, but I mean, you can, so it's fine. But it's like thanks for barging in to my super expensive 4 inches of space they allotted me.

heard a story recently and seen pics to prove. i like to cruise as well as vegas. a guy doing a review told this story with pics about whilst waiting a fireworks display on ship he and wife saw 2 seats apparently free so he went to sit in them. he was met by a rude women who told him they were saved and there friends would be along in a min. he didnt wish to argue so he and wife stood behind them . he mentioned place was filling up with loads standing including elderly couples. just before the fireworks were due to start the couple hogging the chairs had a conversation between themselves that there friends don't look like they will be showing. they then got out of there chairs and stacked the 2 empty chairs under the chairs they were sitting on and watched the show with loads standing

My work requires a lot of travel (200K+ miles a year) and I've seen some nasty stuff everywhere. The nastiest thing I saw was someone who was masturbating in their Business Class seat and then grabbing a snack from the snack basket without going to the bathroom beforehand. Yuck. There are also those who put their feet (bare or with shoes) on the furnitures inside the lounge.

I'm cracking up that it's the washing of the hands not the masturbation itself that has you riled up. Maybe they only used one hand for the deed and used the cleaner hand for the snack basket. Was this a man or woman?

200k miles a year!? Holy crap. That's a lot of miles. I just hit 28k miles for the year and my wife says I travel too much for work.

Surprisingly, there are a good # of people who masturbate in their Business/First Class seat especially on int'l carriers that offer very private seats.... People have to get rid of their urge somehow, right? :p

Yeah most of my travel is int'l (mainly Asia) so I fly back and forth every week. Not being married or in a relationship helps.

Gag me with a fork! :(

I would sure hate to be the poor soul in the same seat on the next flight, as I doubt they clean the seat upholstery! :(

    Totally 144 fer-shure! :(

I flew back from Japan last week and I'm worn out. I think it will take me 2 weeks to recover. And that was using business class.
