    My Trip Report

    Vegas 9/8-9/11 4 girls trip!

3 married 40 something's moms and a 40 something single flight attendant. flew from Des Moines Iowa to Vegas on Allegiant air We arrived in Vegas at 1:30 pm. rented a Hyundai Elantra with 600 miles from Sixth for $7 a day. Long lines and heavy rains.

We arrived at Rio at 230 pm. I had 3 nights comped and my flight attendant friend booked 2 nights for $35 plus resort fees. We were allowed to check in early and were given adjoining rooms in the Ipanema tower. I stayed at the Rio in August and had the Masquerade Tower and I liked that room much more.

Dropped our stuff of in the rooms and headed out in the rain to get something to eat. We drove down the road to Ricardos Mexican restaurant. Sat at the bar and got margaritas and ate chips and salsa. It was happy hour and margaritas were $5. I had a blue blended one and then a coconut one. Both really good! The chips came with a red salsa a green salsa and a bean dip. Yummy!

Flight attendant friend had plans to meet people at Pizza Rock downtown so we headed downtown and valet parked at The Downtown Grand. I love the Grand. Stayed there 2 nights in August and love everything about the place. 2 other girls had never been there before so they got signed up for players cards. I was disappointed to learn they don't have the mystery free play for new sign ups anymore. We got our parking validated so it was free. I looked at all the bars until I found my favorite bartender Carlos at the Furnace Bar. Sat down put a $20 in video poker and played and joked with Carlos while drinking a chocolate martini. I cashed out $25 and tipped Carlos $5. Headed over to the craps table with one of the girls and we played craps for awhile, but lost $40. The dealers were very friendly and appreciated it when I tipped them.

We headed to Planet Hollywood and got tickets to Sin City Comedy. $12.50 on Groupon and it included a drink. We stopped in Cabo Wabo and had a drink. 2 for 1 coupon used out of Miracle Mile coupon book for 2 daiquiris for $11. Sin City Comedy was entertaining and a great deal for $12.50. Got a Malibu and pineapple at the show.

Went back to Rio and gambled and drank. About midnight I remembered I had only ate chips. I stopped at the Sports book and got a BLT sandwich to take back to the room. Just an average sandwich for $9 but it hit the spot.

Woke up about 8 and headed down to the casino. 2 of girls went to Hash House and I warned them to split a meal because of the huge portions. Flight attendant friend headed to DMV to renew license and to her mailbox. I had a Bloody Mary, Baileys and soda and then a diet Pepsi for breakfast. Didn't win any but messed around various machines.

We all met up at noon and headed to New York New York to pick up Zumanity tickets. Stopped at In And Out Burger. Yummy good fast food. One of the girls and I used our Vegas points for our free tickets and then I had a buy one get one free for the other two girls. Great deal ended up being $55 total for 4 tickets. One of the girls wanted to get her husband a Guinness shirt so we drove to shops at Mandalay Bay. 2 of us stayed in casino and the other 2 went shopping. I cashed out $120 playing Sphinx 3D. It was about 3 and the group wanted to head back to Rio to relax before 8 Zumanity show.

One of the girls wanted to go to Gold and Silver Pawn so we Put it in GPS and found it easily. When we got there it was closed for filming and they said it would be an hour. Drive downtown and looked at Container Place. Drove back by pawn shop and people were going in. We were walking in and Mark the history guy was walking out. Didn't see anyone else from the show.

Got back to Rio and I decided to walk over to the Gold Coast. They had the 3 way poker machine that I love. I quickly lost $60 and started to leave to go back to the Rio. I stopped at the Tarzan machine and got the bonus for major prize win of $212.00. I played awhile getting smaller bonuses and cashed out $250.00.

Went back to Rio and got ready for Zumanity. We stopped at a sandwich place in a strip mall called Fat Moes. It was really good. Got a cheesesteak, fries and a diet Pepsi for $8.

Got to New York New York parked and walked into Zumanity. They were doing a pre-show and it was hilarious. We had front row in balcony and they were swivel seats and really cushy like bar stools with backs. Zumanity was so good. It was very sexual and entertaining. They kept pulling people from audience and had them do some crazy stuff. Lots of sex and nudity. Loved it!

Back to Rio. Flight attendant and car driver was leaving at 5 am so she went to bed. 3 of us went to casino and played until 2 am. One of the girls was playing craps and we left her winning at the table. I guess after we left the guy next to her at the table started hitting on her and wanted to come back to the room with her. She made it back safe and alone.

Woke up at 5 and said goodbye to flight attendant friend and the rental car. Went back to sleep and 2 other girls went to Hash House. Took the shuttle to Harrahs and hit the Caesars Forum Shops. Shopped and then headed to Bellagio to see the conservatory. They were changing the display so it was roped off and didn't see much. Took the tram to City Center and stopped at Crystals and did some window shopping. Headed over to Planet Hollywood and checked out The Tickets 4 Tonight booth and couldn't decide on anything. Went through Miracle Mile shops. Stopped at the Heart Bar in Planet Hollywood and had a drink with 2 for 1 coupon.

One mom wanted to head back to Rio and got the pool and the other mom and I wanted to go downtown. We bought our bus passes and took the Deuce to Freemont Street. Stopped in 4 Queens and tried a pull on the free slot. Neither of us were lucky. Stopped in Binions and got our free picture taken with the million dollars! Walked to Golden Gate and got my $15 food credit voucher and I had $20 in free slot play. Put it all in the Walking Dead and didn't have any luck. Went to Dupars for shrimp cocktails! Headed back to Binions to pick up our pictures and played a fun slot called Rich Life. Played for a long time and got lots of bonuses. Got enough points on my card for a spin and won $10 in table chips. We each put $5 on the pass line at craps and lost after 3 rolls. Got on CDX and stopped to watch a fountain show then took 202 back to Rio.

We found a Groupon for $33 to MJ Live at the Rio. Stopped to eat at Sports Book at Rio. MJ Live was fine, but I probably wouldn't recommend it.

After the show we headed to the Chippendales gift shop because the show was about to end and they open the exit doors and you can watch the end of the show. We caught some glimpses and had fun watching the people exit the show.

There was a guy in the casino the night before handing out cards to get in Voodoo. I thought it some sort of scam. I asked the girl at the entrance of Voodoo what the catch with the cards was. She said cover for women is $10 men $20. Free with the card and women drink free from 11 to 12. Still skeptical we headed up to the 51st floor to Voodoo lounge. The views were amazing, the music was great, the drinks were strong and free!! SKYY vodka was sponsoring it so all vodka drinks were free. The goal was to drink as much in a hour for free. Later I learned this was not a good goal to set! A girl at next to us passed out and the paramedics came and took her out in a wheelchair. We were having a great time dancing, making friends and mostly laughing our butts off.

We were feeling pretty good and a Canadian guy latched on to one of the moms and was trying to get too cozy. We made a trip to the bathroom and decided it was time to head out. Headed to the Casino to play the Life Community game. I remember we were hitting lots of group bonuses. The free drinks were really starting to take a toll on me so I thought I cashed out with a .30 ticket. I staggered back to the room alone just in time to start getting really sick. It was a rough few hours until the alarm went off. We needed to check out and hit the airport. I was packing up and checking my purse and found my ticket that I thought was 30 cents. Somehow it was $133.30. That was a nice surprise!

Made it to cab $14.70 to airport and on the plane without getting sick!! It will be awhile before I drink like that again!

Too drunk to remember that you had $133 on a slot ticket until the next morning... that's always a plus!

    Nice report!

Thanks for sharing, it is always fun to hear the Vegas experience from the perspective of the opposite sex.
