    My Trip Report

Tomorrow after work I will head out on my most interesting vegas trip yet.
Taking Tuesday off work. Leaving town Monday night, returning Tuesday night and back to work Wed.
So many firsts this trip. First time going alone. First time I don't care about what kind of room I have, barely even need it. First time I'm not even eating a dinner in Vegas.
First time flying Spirit Airlines (which I swore I'd never do). Found a r/t flight for $150 and then Was shocked to see they charge for checked or carry on bags. So I decided to make this a real adventure and give them the middle finger by choosing the "no bag" option all 20 times they have asked me if I'm sure! I've read all the 1 star reviews and I'm completely prepared to hate them by the end of this trip. I also refuse to pay for one of their extra add on things, like choosing a seat. Looks like routinely leave 2 hrs late, so I'm even prepared for possible not checking in to my hotel til midnight tomorrow! So I've packed my littlest bag ever "no larger than a janport backpack", and this should be some day off! Did I meantime n that this will be the first time I've ever taken less than 5 pairs of shoes to Vegas.

I am shocked a purse is not considered a carry-on (By the airline not me or you). I hope this looks as good at lunch Wednesday as it does now....good luck....

Love how low you set your expectations! I don't suppose they serve complimentary snacks or bottled water, but it they did, you should see how many you can take to reduce their profit on you even more!

Looking forward to seeing if your hate for them after the trip matches your expectations!

Purses ("personal items") are not charged on Spirit, which is an airline which would charge you for the seat belt if they could. They may have size restrictions on them. I've occasionally cheated and put my regular purse in a larger tote bag (with other junk) and considered that to be my personal item. I'm sure they have seen this, as last time I flew Spirit the charge for a carry on was very steep.

As an aside, last time I flew Spirit they were particularly unprofessional in badmouthing Southwest during their "Live Action Infomercial" plugging their credit card.

The baggage charges are the only reason why American made money last year. Southwest is going to start charging for bags as well.

I'll give you some hope....I hate Spirit for many reasons (crammed seats, the way they nickel and dime you to death) but the 2 or 3 times I've flown them return, all flights departed on schedule. Looking forward to hearing about your whirlwind trip!

Fly on Spirit all time, I am even in the Elite category, which gets you absolutely nothing. They wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire, but sometimes its cheaper than SWA out of DTW.

    Have fun and take pictures!!

Ok- crew just boarded, 32 min til scheduled take off. Still plenty of time for some mechanical failure or a tray table to break.[IMG]

First win of the trip. They called out for 4 volunteers in rows 21 and back to volunteer to move to the exit rows. I was number 5 and the girl felt bad so she moved me from row 26 up to row 17 and isle seat with no one in the middle!
