    My Trip Report

The time has finally arrived! After a losing Super Bowl Weekend trip I have been licking my chops to get back to reclaim my cash from the cold hard grip of Las Vegas.

This trip will primarily be solo - I have a couple of buddies who are from the Philly area who will be out there but most of the time it will be me, a craps table, a seat in the sports book and plenty of beer having a grand ol' time.

Like many the everyday stresses of work and life in general has been quite heavy the last six months. Work has been busier than ever and other than my SB Weekend Trip I have not had any days off. So I am ready to roll.

The first leg of the trip will be spent at The Wynn under a fishing offer than somehow made its way into my mailbox. I was primed to stay the first half of the trip at Aria or Mirage until this showed up. I will have three nights in a deluxe panoramic and $50 in free play. I have never stayed at The Wynn but thanks to the boards Wynncore experts, namely carve, I am really pumped up and looking forward to it.

The second leg of the trip will be spent at The Palazzo. I have stayed at V/P numerous times and I love it there. My offer there is three nights with $100 food credit and $200 in free play. I will leave The Wynn early on Sunday morning and trek over to The Palazzo and check my bags with the bell desk and then head over to claim my spot on a couch at Lagasse's where my friends and I will watch the Eagles systematically dismantle the Washington Redskins.

My flight leaves Houston tomorrow AM and I am in my favorite first class seat, 5F so I can have a view of Vegas upon descent into McCarran. I literally, this is no joke, have FIVE alarms set for tomorrow AM. My bedside alarm clock is set for 0430hrs and then I have four additional ones set on my iPhone. I have a fear of oversleeping and missing flights. I just popped a couple Advil PMs and hope to be out by 8-9pm this evening. I'd like to arrive fresh tomorrow since I get in so early and cannot check in until later in the afternoon.

Once I have arrived I will be catching a ride from one of the Vegas cabbies whom I follow on Twitter. I appreciate those guys posting their blogs and tweeting out Vegas stuff so giving them some business is the right thing to do.

Upon arrival at The Wynn I will check my bags, grab the NFL and NCAA Football betting sheets and make my way over to The Mirage to redeem one of the two myVegas rewards. I found the game to be boring and with the reports that the rewards are getting watered down I stuck it out long enough to get a buffet (pre staying at an MGM prop requirement) and a pizza and beer at Aria's Five50.

After breakfast, I am guessing it'll be around 10-1030hrs so I will play a small craps session at Mirage and then make my way down to Mandalay Bay's shop area to have a straight razor Royal Shave at The Art of Shaving. The lady whom I normally use apparently is off (they called me yesterday, which was nice of them and booked me with another lady) but I love having these done. If you're a guy and have never had one I highly recommend it. They're like $55 and it takes about an hour. Being that I am staying six days I may have two while I am there.

Once the shave is complete I'm going to check out the action at Mandalay. I have never gambled there so I would like to make a run at their craps tables. Hopefully my buy in will last for awhile! After that I will probably mosey over to Luxor and MGM and then eventually catch a cab back to Wynn and check in.

The NFL game and NCAAF games start early since it'll be pacific time so I will be getting those in (not sure on who I will lock in yet - but I am leaning towards Atlanta in the NFL and Auburn in NCAAF).

Once that is done then it should be time to check in... and I will make my way up to the room to chill before making my way down to the Wynn's sports book to watch.

My bankroll is a bit smaller than I originally budgeted. I'd planned on going with $2k per day for the six days but I have cut it down to $1000-$1500. Why? Because my freaking living room TV went out a week ago and I had to buy a new one. I also needed new tires and brakes for my truck and that set me back close to $2k (upgraded to some sweet Brembo's) and also threw a spray-in bedliner in. So being the responsible adult that I am :)evillaugh) rather than charge everything and worry about it later I tapped "The Slush Fund". TSF is my separate account for entertainment and other various bullshit. Small sacrifices here, guys! But its cool...if that wench Ms. Variance takes a hit on my bankroll I have additional ammunition. Hopefully I will NOT have to break glass in case of emergency.

As many already know I am mainly a craps and sports bettor. I sprinkle in some blackjack from time to time too. However it is my goal to try new games this trip. I will be taking a stab at baccarat, freebet blackjack and pai gow. I am an aggressive presser at the dice table especially when I am the shooter. I have this feeling that I will nail a fire bet this trip...hopefully when I pop into PHo to meet Hunter.

I don't have much in the way of solid plans. Like I said - I am mainly looking to getting away from normal life and enjoy a long and relaxing trip. Six days is the longest that I will have ever stayed there so I have to force myself into a leisurely pace rather than the hardcore non-stop no sleep blitzkrieg's that I am used to.

Other than the plan to eat the Mirage buffet the only other places that I have on my list are Five550 at Aria, Dupar's and Mon Ami Gabi for breakfast early Friday AM. I will do Dupar's the day I head down to check out the Mob Museum, probably Monday or Tuesday. Other than that I am open ended and I am looking forward to it.

I chose to start this now because I know this is long winded so typing this on my laptop and getting the thread started will make it easier for me to post pictures and quick updates from Tapatalk while in town.

I know you were looking forward to your trip so don't be too unhappy when the Redskins win on Sunday :). Good luck otherwise with your trip. I'm interested in your impression of the Wynn as a first timer because I/we have almost the exact same fishing offer.

Thanks buddy! Have you made your picks for the Super yet?

I was thinking of doing a parlay on Frohardt-Lane's picks for the helluva it.

Thanks, ND! Honestly I would not be surprised if the Skins won. The Eagles haven't put together a complete game yet and they're missing their LG and RT still. The replacement LG and RT played like shit Monday night. Add that into whatever the hell got into the Skins DL (probably the Jags OL) to cause them to throw down 11 sacks or whatever Sunday and it could get dicey since Foles has decided he wants to hold the ball forever this year. DeSean is coming back and I loved him while he was a Bird and am still salty that they let him go. But I hope that he doesn't go off.

Haha will do, man. Thanks again for all your tips and info.

One thing I forgot to put into my intro post...the first bet of the trip. I thought long and hard about what to do and I think I am going to drop $100 on black, $50 on 17 (baseball number + former favorite Phille when I was a kid), $25 on 20 (greatest Eagle safety ever - Brian Dawkins) and $25 on 32 (because it is close to the other two and have had the ball bounce outta 17 and 20 into 32 before) as soon as I arrive. It'd be nice to start off $1875 in the black for the trip!

I don't think the Skins will win but I'm looking forward to the game. Their defensive success on Sunday was mostly due, as you say to the Jags OL. They sucked. I'm just hoping for a competitive game. Was at the Skins opener last year vs the Eagles and left at half time it was so much of a blowout. If the Skins can't win the division, and they won't, I certainly hope it's the Eagles over the giants or more importantly the Cowboys.

    Thank you very much!

    Thanks, BeeeJay!

BTW - I think I am going to lay down some change on your Huskers against the Canes. Is this advisable? I have watched The U quite a bit and saw The Scare against McNeese for Big Red...but I just don't see Al Golden and his frosh QB (who is the son of the lady who played Felisha in the movie Friday for those who are familiar with the movie) going on the road and winning that ballgame.

The Giants have one foot in the proverbial grave already. They look awful. Dallas people are fired up because they looked decent against Tennessee...but they still like to choke in Nov and Romo will do this thing...pick pick baby!

I think Cousins is going to make them better. He's more of a WCO QB and his mechanics are a bit more sound that Griffin's. He gives the Skins a legit shot.

    Good luck Rocky.

My luck at Wynn and V/P (my favorite two casinos btw) has been passed on to you from last weekend. I can feel it in the air.

    Win some money!

Good luck Rocky! Looking forward to your live updates. As far as the 4 iPhone alarms I hope you didn't upgrade to the new iOS 8 today. Who knows if it's full of bugs. :poke:

Thanks buddy! I appreciate the good vibes!

Thanks Packer! Hope to catch ya at a table at some point!

Dude I seriously almost did it this afternoon but decided to wait until I get back to be safe. I had a bad thought of my phone crashing because of the system update. That would be bad...most importantly bc I couldn't do a live report lol

I feel the Advil Pm kicking in. Holler at you guys tomorrow!

Haha I narrowed it down from a couple options and figured this was the best. Maybe Steve Wynn will be generous right off the bat!

Good luck man! I'm going to zone in hard on nfl bets once I'm settled in.
