Solo trip a couple weeks ago. Two nights comped Mirage, two nights comped Cromwell. Free Brittany tix and a $200 flight! How do I say no. Plane is on time. Temperature is good and cabbie doesn't try to long haul me and in fact takes absolute best route to Mirage he could.

Arrive Mirage, fare about $18. Give the man $25 as is the standard for arrival. Grab bag exit cab. Another guy hops in my cab and they are off. Go to Mirage invited guest check in line. Go to open man bag/murse to get my wallet and....I don't have my man bag/murse. I left it in the cab!!! I was half asleep during cab ride and got out without getting it! Got carry on but not bag.

Anxiety level is very high. Despite this I go to Bell Desk which wasn't real helpful other than to give me a list of cab companies to start calling. I had no idea who the cab company was. Who pays attention to that???? I am about to call when Bell guy says most cab companies Lost and Found departments aren't open on a Sunday and I might have to wait until Monday. Oh good..... Now the positive....I ALWAYS carry my cash and passport on my. NEVER in my man bag. But wallet, ID, Credit Cards and Birth Cert are in there. Things that kind of come in handy!

Rather than call EVERY cab company I think it through. Gotta be a camera at entrance. I go to Security and they have me walk them out to the exact spot I was dropped off. They radio the guys with the video. They get cab company and cab number from roof of taxi. It was Ace Taxi. Security takes my phone number and says they will call the company then call me back.

I go to check in and explain. They let me check in with no CC and no cash deposit and just tell me to get a CC later. Thank you Mirage!!!!

So despite the stress....what could I do? I had all my money and a passport and everything else was actually replaceable. So I go to the pool (as previously planned) grab a pina colada and chill. I did have to go back to security a couple hours later as they never called, slight mix up on phone number but he did try to call me. Another gentlemen helped me out. My bag was alive and well and at the Ace security office. I hop in another cab and I am reunited with my bag.

Everything there. Disaster averted! Now had I had money in that bag....could have been different but maybe not. I have found wallets with money in them twice and turned them in so I was hoping Karma would rear its head and get my bag back and so it did!

Had a great four days in Vegas and I must say I am in love with the Cromwell pool and the beach party there on Tuesday night was a scene! I had the pool to myself almost entirely during Tuesday/Wednesday. Maybe about 30 people in total there. Rooms at Cromwell are small, dark, but nice. Funny thing. I order a Miller Lite. Waitress delivers, I hand her a $20 and give her the customary $1. After she leaves I count my money. I have $4 left. I think there must be an error. Bouncer/life guard comes by and I ask, "Did I just pay $15 for a can of Miller Lite?" He smiles, "Yes sir you did". I say, "Fair enough". I was dumb enough to order another one!!!

Brittany Spears "show" I say show not concert as I don't think she sang a note was great. There was also an issue here as they had no record of my free tix. Had to call host to straighten that out to! She gets me the free tix but told me I got the last two freebies available and I was having a lucky day! Also tells me from now on book everything through her as sometimes the web site screws up. Clearly!!!! But she got me fourth row which was swell. I also hit a $1000 Royal on a 10 play machine at Bellagio 20 minutes before the show. Had a great solo trip which included a nice little limo ride DT to Golden Gate/D/Four Queens to see our good friend Steve at GG. I never did get to the nudie bar with him as he demanded!

In what can only be described at irony...or idiocy???? I checked out of The Mirage and walked over to Cromwell. When I got there WITH my man bag...I realized I had left my passport in the safe at The Mirage so I had to check in to Cromwell and huff it back to Mirage. Housekeeping let me in as they had not finished with the room yet and I was reunited with passport. It seems like I really tried to make life difficult for myself this trip.

So despite a losing trip (though smaller loss than usual) all things considered, I think I was pretty darn lucky!!

Wait....did this sound more like a TR????

I would like to add I sent an email to Mlife about the two gents in security that salvaged my trip!

That is nice to hear - I like when companies actually help people out rather than issue the boilerplate responses or pretend like they're doing something.

    Thanks for the mini-report!

BTW = $15 for a can of Miller Lite is insane!

Congratulations Gaggles. I had something similar happen to me in New Orleans, except it was an old 4 year old laptop worth no more than $100 at a pawn shop, but had my life on it. It was left in a cab when getting out at a casino there. It was like pulling teeth to get security there to look at the cameras, they really didn't want to, and when they did, all that ended up happening is I was told that someone later on in the cab stole it. Sad fact I learned during the process, cab drivers in New Orleans generally take their cabs home with them at night and don't tend to have a central dispatch. So even if you get the cab company name, they can't contact the drivers by radio.

Not gonna lie, I'd be a bit pissy with security if they were reluctant to be doing their job where I was concerned. The positive from your negative is that you had to get a new computer!

Your Colt 45 Avatar kicks ass.
