    My Trip Report

Decided to run down to Foxwoods Friday afternoon. Had some lunch, then sat down at one of the Pai Gow Poker tables in the high limit room (still a $25 minimum, but much nicer area than the main casinos).

I was treading water for about a half hour when I got one of my best hands ever, quad 8s with a pair of aces on top. $200 win from the bonus bet and I bump up my bets, including putting $11 on the Pai Gow Insurance bet. Three hands later lightning strikes and the dealer turns over a 9 high hand, which pays 100 to 1. $1,100 for me and my luck was just starting.

Over the next 9 hours my bets go from $25-$50 to $400-$500 a hand. I keep winning hands that should be losers, and end up cleaning out the table's supply of $100 black chips. The dealers are even commenting on how crazy it is (I'm also betting 5-10 for them every hand).

Come midnight I finally lose two bets in a row (both $500, ouch). I color up to this:

Also ended up getting 500 points on my card, although they couldn't give me a room because of the UFC fight.

I probably won't play Pai Gow again for a very long time, there is no way I could come close to this again.

That is some beautiful chip porn!

I don't know Pai Gow enough to comprehend how sick of a run that was but anything that allows a 10k color up on a $25 table is awesome!

Yeah, it was crazy. I never lost two in a row until the very last 2 hands I played.

I also won 3 King high hands, twice the dealer also had a king high, one time they had a queen high. It was one of those nights where I would have a pair of Aces and Queens, and the dealer would turn over Kings and Jacks. Was a crazy run.

Great job!! I haven't been to foxwoods in a long time, The one time I went I just wasn't feeling it. Rooms were expensive and doesn't have the Vegas vibe. This was before MGM opened there, I found it very boring with only the only place to walk around in. One of these days I'm sure I'll get back down there, but for now I'd much rather dsave my money and go to Vegas instead.

Twin River in Rhode Island is technically closer for me, but that place is boring and depressing, plus they don't offer any good comps. Foxwoods is OK, definitely not Vegas, but its better than nothing. The MGM side is no longer called MGM, but still nicer than Foxwoods itself, although it sucks they got rid of Craftsteak since I now have 1,000 points to use and no really good restaurants to go to.

Nice run and congrats on the $10K win!
I always say, never quit on a winning streak.
Sounds like you set the bar at walking when you hit 2 losses in a row.
And when that happened (9 hours later!!!), you had the discipline to get up and walk away a WINNER.
