I'll definitely follow along. I love the Super Contest. I check it out every year. Always wanted to pull the trigger on an entry, but I know I'm a long shot to win. Especially with the number of people involved now.

I don't. Have you seen RGIII's stat line from the preseason? It's pretty vicious. The offensive line for Washington is a complete disaster and Houston has a pretty decent front seven. Watt is the man, Brian Cushing is back, and Clowney *could* be a beast.

Anything could happen in that game. Too much of a coin-flip for my taste.

But, if you have to play that game, play the under IMO. Good luck.

But the Cards QB is Carson Palmer. He doesn't exactly strike fear in my heart, lol. I think the Cards are decent, but not as good as last year. Its funny, this is the third straight season I have made an Over/Under bets on Cards wins and I won the past two (over last season, and under two years ago; although that one made me nervous because they started the season strong and won a September game in NE). For this week, I simply like taking the Chargers. If I had to lay them, I would have stayed away.

Minn +3.5 @ St. Louis [I actually like Minnesota outright]
    Jax +10.5 @ Philly
    Bears/Bill OVER 47.5

Just like the poker tourney saying "all you need is a chip and a chair", you never know. I know it's a loooonnnnggg shot to win 1st, but maybe I can win something. I think last year I would've placed around 17th place but it would not have been much money won because a lot of ppl tied.

Just give it a shot, you never know.

good info on the proxy - I was wondering about that.

And I know some locals are proxies for many people so they make a nice chunk o' change doing that if they charge $300 a head.

I really like the Bears tomorrow. I just cannot see Buffalo making a game of it.

I have a 3 game parlay. Took the Seahawks at -5 for the Thursday night game, I also have Ravens at -1.5 and Saints at -3.

I've got Falcons over N.O., Ravens over Bengals and Titans over Chiefs on one card and Texans over Redskins, 49ers over Cowboys and Giants over Lions on the other.

OK folks, I'm obviously starting this thread a little late this week. But after seeing all the different threads on virtually the same subject, I am going to merge them all here.

And in future NFL weeks, I will start a new thread each Monday night or Tuesday morning for the upcoming week. That way, we can try and kepe all the discussions about weekly matchups and wagers all in one thread, rather than several. Enjoy ....

Well well well...my Eagles certainly made me sweat it out. I think I curse so much in the first half I may have to get my tonsils removed. Sheesh. Nick Foles was brutal. Missing open receivers, throwing ducks, holding the ball forever...just an overall shitshow. Out all-pro best LT in the game (Peters) wasn't solid and we lost our other all-pro OL, Evan Mathis, to a knee injury. The guy filling in for suspended Lane Johnson (RT), Allen Barbe, was hurt too.

But they came out and played their asses off. I love Darren Sproles. Whew!

Made it even better to see Washington and Dallas (Romo hahaha) lose.

As for my picks? This is one reason why I wait to see how teams fare before putting real money down. In my Pick Em Pool (we have to pick four games ATS) and my suicide pool I sucked.

My four picks? Green Bay (L), Tampa (L), Chicago (L) and Detroit (pending)

My suicide pool? Chicago. Goodbye hopes of winning $4k. I will not root actively against the Bears. Nice stiff arm you took there, Conte...ya bum! And Cutler throwing that pick to Kyle Williams? Ugh.

I took Eagles, Steelers and Broncos parlay, 2080 to win 2000 (my cousin lives in Vegas, so he can make bets).
Then after the Eagles and Steelers both won (made me sweat both games!), I hedged and took Colts moneyline (+350) for 600 to win 2100.
This way, if Colts win, I win 20. If Broncos win, I win 1400.

My question to VMB members: Would you have hedged by betting on the Colts, or is this just throwing away 600?

I probably wouldn't have hedged on the Broncos. But breaking even or walking with 1400 is better than taking the 2080 full hit
