I've been almost strictly a CET player but am staying at Monte Carlo in a couple weeks. I have heard that MGM won't rate you if you are under $25 a hand in black jack. Im usually a green chip bettor but if it's going rough ill play lower. Do you not even give them your card at less than $25 or always give and have them tell you no, we don't rate at that level of play? Thanks

If you search a bit you'll find more in-depth discussions of this, but bottom line, there is or was supposedly a "policy" of not rating below $25 a hand, but this is sporadically enforced at some properties and not enforced entirely at most. The only place where I've seen or heard of a consistent refusal to rate below $25 is Mirage. I see people get rated at Aria for $15 all the time, at Mandalay Bay I had a pit boss specifically suggest that I give them my card when betting $15, and I saw the same thing happen to another group at Bellagio (I didn't want to be rated at the time because most of my play was $100+ craps and I didn't want to kill my average). Always give them your card and let them say no.

I always recommend that you give them your card unless you are really low rolling in a casino where the pit crew won't recognize you.

On a side note, I believe that it is bad business for a casino to not accept your card if you are playing below a level that they will "rate". I believe it makes the gambler feel unwanted and will likely lead to them moving to another casino. If I were a pit boss, I would just accept their card, but only rate the person if they started betting higher.

Keep in mind Monte Carlo is strictly 6/5. You may want to play elsewhere where you can easily get 3/2 (MGM, Mandalay, Excalibur, etc).

I've only had them tell me that at Mirage. At MC and NYNY I've never had a pit boss tell me anything about not rating me.

And of all places, even Cosmopolitan rates all-rollers.

I booked MC before they switched to 6/5. I would move but the iHeart radio music festival is jacking up the rates. I'll probably play at Aria now or maybe back at CET. I don't play for comps except that I usually play to get cheap rooms for March. If nothing else's, ill play one big day at flamingo to try to get better offers for march madness.

Yeah Mirage is the only one who flat out refused to rate below $25

I got into it with a pit critter there when she refused to rate my GF because she was playing $10-15. I told her that since we can earn ECs based on the gambling then she needed to rate her. We went back and forth a bit and she eventually relented.

Taking the card with a smile and actually rating you can easily be two different things.

I read the MGM has 3/2 tables on trip advisor. Anyone been there later and actually see one?

Yes. I was there a week and a half ago and played multiple $15 3/2 tables.

MGM has lots of 3:2 tables. They also have tables where dealer stands on soft 17.
