What should be my next low roller buffet or coffee shop adventure?

Can I get some thoughts on what we should try next? Highlights of our previous low roller food adventures are in my signature. There may be a few places I didn't think were particularly low roller that aren't included. But, I can always say "did-it" or "done-it" if that's the case. I'm curious and anxious to hear what your suggestions might be.

Have you tried the Buffet at South Point ? With a players card it is under 10.00 bucks for breakfast or lunch.

I'm not sure I understand the "my next" part... most people eat two to three meals a day and almost every property, Downtown or on The Strip, has a coffee shop, and there are plenty of low end buffets out there...

MSS buffet. Market St. Café (at the Cal) Prime Rib special that includes a salad bar and cherries jubilee for dessert. Also at Market St. Café - the Oxtail soup special. El Cortez prime rib special. HHAGG at the Plaza. Eateries at the Plaza, 4queens, Fremont, the restaurant at Binions. The lanai at the Cal (1st floor near the binions/lvc entrance) serves local "Hawaiian" style dishes. Aloha Specialties restaurant on the 2nd floor promenade between MSS and the Cal. Coney island hot dogs at the D. Yup, with the exception of lvc all the downtown hotel casinos have places to eat so it depends on what you want.

Make sure you get back to us with what you decide on.

The chinese place (China Max) inside the International Eatery @ Neonopolis has a pretty decent deal and the food I thought was pretty good. I think I paid 7.99 for fried rice with bourbon chicken and general Tso chicken. You get a choice of chow mein or rice if I remember correctly and then two of the "meat entrees". I wish I had tried it before the night before I left. There is also a Mexican place and an Italian place there also.
I will be hitting it up when I go back in December. May just try each category LOL

You guys are giving me awesome ideas. But, for my low roller challenges, I do places that get no respect. ie; Circus Circus buffet, Imperial Palace buffet etc. Any ideas along those lines?

Maybe a new incarnation of Firefly will appear prior to your next trip. But then you might have to change the end part of your signature.

You could try a quadruple bypass burger at the Heart Attack grill. Not cheap, but impressive if you can survive it.

I heard it's renovating now but you should add the Excaliber buffet to your bag of low-roller adventures in dining at buffets.

But I'm kind of concerned about the "and lived!" part.....:wink2:

My Aunt who lives in Vegas goes to the Arizona Charlies at Decatur buffet. She said it is horrible but it's free and they get the free coupons every month. All you gotta do is play very minimal there and you're set....for life. :kill:

I'm reading these posts to my husband and he's intrigued. However the lady in the other couple who is going with us is already asking too many questions and acting too anxious. He doesn't want to freak her out too much. Apparently a few of their co-workers have her concerned about staying downtown and yada yada. He says we should pick up our low roller buffet challenge on our next trip. I'm a little bummed and I feel like I'm letting you guys down.

Gold Coast buffet is inexpensive and you'll live. It's small and basic but not bad.

    Did It-Done It
    DuPars at Golden Gate-love it
    777 at Main Street Station
Gold Coast buffet-also did their old coffee shop in 2006, have yet to do steak special-see below
    MSS buffet-fav of my husband’s
    4Queens-Magnolia’s-love it & fav of husband’s
Fremont buffet-loved the whole Magnum P.I. thing going on in there, food was OK

    I don’t have a death wish
quadruple bypass burger at the Heart Attack grill

Doesn’t sound low roller enough for this challenge, please advise.
    Buffet at South Point
Excalibur buffet-did the coffee shop in 2006 and thought it was nice, does that count?
    Firefly
Market St. Café (at the Cal)-I’ll go anyway but is it challenge worthy?
    El Cortez

Falls outside of buffet-coffee shop guidelines and/or husband won’t go for it
    Firefly
HHAGG & eateries at the Plaza-that and I don’t like the Plaza, not because it’s low roller, just because I don’t like it.
The Lanai at the Cal & Aloha Specialties between MSS and the Cal -although my husband might go for it because he likes the Hawaiian food at MSS? We’ll see, he’s unpredictable when drinking.
Coney island hot dogs at the D-hot dogs in general are not permitted in Vegas, I don’t make the rules (OK, I made that rule because my husband is a hot dog fiend)
China Max & Mexican place & Italian place inside the International Eatery @ Neonopolis

Adding to the list of possible contenders
    Terribles buffet (now Silver Sevens)
Chuck Wagon in the Long horn casino-you had me at “Chuck Wagon”
    Gold Coast steak special
    Binion’s

'Longhorn casino' down Boulder Highway got a mention. Good cheap steak. Just across the road from 'Sam's Town.'

On the north side of town: Bighorn (sister casino to Longhorn), Jerry's Nugget, Silver Nugget, Poker Palace and Lucky Club. We have eaten at Bighorn, Silver Nugget and Poker Palace. Bighorn has ACG 2/1 lunch and dinner entrée coupons.

Already mentioned Silver Seven's buffet but their café is really good also - with 2/1 ACG and MRB coupons.

Wildfire (various locations) and Barley's (Henderson) have good food also and MRB coupons. We really like Barley's pizzas and the Wildfire used to have a great ACG coupon - free burger and fries with drink purchase. Sadly these are long gone. It wasn't a gourmet burger by any stretch of the imagination, but it was a nice lunch or afternoon snack. I haven't tried their latest incarnation yet.

Emerald Isle (Henderson) has a café with pretty good reviews - and coupons too! Penny slot house casino.

    Happy eating!

    Cheers,
    Kelly

The Luxor buffet always seems to get a bad rap. I've never tried it but I'm staying there in October so who knows..

Have you done Palms buffet; it's inexpensive and good. If you go on Sunday, you get cheap champagne or mimosas too.
