Played there last week and must say, it's a combination of a game with great odds (20X) and the bar scene out of Star Wars.

The players are a mix of rag tag weirdos and savvy, best game on the Strip craps shooters. We had 2 or 3 shooters who knew what they were doing and displayed an above average ability to put out a nice roll.

On the other hand, we had 3 women in their late fifties, two of whom couldn't hit the layout with the dice, and I don't mean dice bouncing off, I mean on the fly off the table. One of them went through this progression:

First roll - hit the stickman on the fly.
Second roll - Didn't make it half way up the layout, but at least set the point.
Third roll - Missed the stickman this time, but off the side of the table in his vicinity.
Fourth roll - One die off the far end on the fly, the other thrown nicely (i'll get back to this roll)
    Fifth Roll - Seven out

The next woman was wise enough to pass. The third woman then threw for about 10 minutes with a mixture of one die off-one on, knocking over chips and general assortment of 2's,3's and 12's. :)

We also had the drunk guy on our end of the table, who insisted on staring at the shooter and repeating "seven...seven....seven". Now this would have been fine on a come out roll, but we'd already set the point. A point by the way, he was betting on. He'd then change up his game by asking for a six or eight, two numbers that were neither the point, nor did he have any money on them.

When he was whispering seven at one shooter, I asked the dealer if we could "do something about this fool?" He said he couldn't, since technically he wasn't doing anything wrong. When he started doing it to my son's girlfriend, I pointed out to the fool, "now we're going to have a problem". He stopped and she proceeded to throw about 5 points and a bunch of hardways.

Our experience ended, when for the third time, somebody reached down to place a bet, hit the dice and we seven'd out. This was down to the staff and was once too many.

Now the staff we're just as strange. First of all, I noticed they didn't seem to provide much help to players who maybe had the wrong number of chips on a bet. $3 tables can be tricky when it comes to place bets and odds. Most tables you play, you'll hear them tell someone "put another $1" about 20 times an hour. This didn't really happen.

Also, it was all they could do to keep the game moving at 100 miles an hour. This is what led to the hands hitting dice. They were pushing the dice to the shooter entirely too quickly. I know at times players can be slow and at a $3 table, you've got more learners, but people were barely getting their odds down on pass line and the dice were out.

Additionally, 9 out of 10 rolls, nobody called out the number. Now I didn't have my glasses on, so rolls to the other end of the layout were a mystery to me, until they started paying off bets.

The women's throw I mentioned earlier was so bizarre, I couldn't believe it happened. She threw the dice, as I said, one stayed on and one flew off the table. I was at the far end, so it went off next to me. It hit a chair and went under the craps table right under me. It was under the table a bit, so I had to get on my hands and knees to get the die, I picked it up, got back to my feet just in time to see a seven land. They had replaced the missing die and she'd thrown a 7. What the hell!!! Never in my life had I seen a table where they didn't account for the dice, before making the next roll. I complained to the dealer who said, "shooter threw the dice".

The cocktail staff was as much on the ball. I ordered a jack and diet. My son and his gf ordered vodka cranberries. She brought me a jack 'n cranberry. :kill: I reminder her what I had ordered, she even asked, "don't you want this one?" :vomit:
I was shooting at the time and the dealers were none too pleased that I corrected my drink order before shooting. When the dealer started complaining I just said, "shooter hasn't thrown the dice". :evillaugh

It was an experience to remember so tread warily at the Royale with cheese.

It sucks that they went down to only one table....I used to love going in there to play. I love when the box and pit sweat the money on hot rolls.

But your description is spot on lol

I love to stand stick left or right and I have been hit with people throwing the dice. Those shits hurt!

Another casino that has let the suits make poor decisions.

I'll put it in writing here for all to see, Casino Royale is no longer a desirable location for craps.

It all started when they took out their tub, the mini craps table. But the down hill slide escalated greatly when they took out one of their big tables. Now they are down to just one table. No more 100X odds, not that many people took advantage of it, but it's the principal.

Also, since they became a Best Western it is harder to get rooms comped.
The beverage service has always been very good, but it has to be to if you are drinking their shot glasses of draft beer, to keep you supplied.

I have probably stayed there 20 times. So yes I am mad about the negative changes.

    LOL. Good story, hornhiyo!

As far as the dealers not calling out numbers, I’m finding that’s happening more and more almost everywhere. It’s getting to be a bit of a problem for me as I’m either too lazy or proud to do something about my slowly deteriorating eyesight (other than buying bigger TVs, of course:evillaugh).

They always sweat the bet there. I stopped in and played some craps there about 2 years ago and the pit was on my ass like a cheap suit. Asking for ID, practically leaning over me. It got so bad that I ask the guy if he wanted to throw the dice for me.

Crazy, I've played there once, other than taking forever to get a spot at their table it didn't seem that different than any other low-end casino, and this was at 1:00am...

It cracks me up that they still use pencil and paper to rate players too.

I used to go there quite a bit on my first trips because of the low minimum's. We had a hot roller once and there were two suits hovering. They started checking the dice, hollering about short rolls and pretty much any stall tactic they could think of. The sad thing is there wasn't anyone betting heavy. I was still learning and had maybe $350 in my rack. I told one suit to chill out and that the combined $2000 or so in everyone's racks wasn't going to put them into bankruptcy.

Another time when they still had the 100x odds a guy decided to take them up on it. $5 on the line a $500 behind. You would have thought that Kerry Packer was in the house with the amount of sweat the box was pouring out. One of the dealers mumbled that the bettor should "take his ass back to Wynn where he belongs".

Getting back to the stickperson not calling out rolls anymore. This is getting more and more common. One session at MSS I was playing with a bunch of happy go lucky players.

The stickwoman wouldn't call out the rolls and the guys were like "what?" "what number was that?" or "what did she say?" and "what happened?".

We started making a game out of it and had fun anyway since the table was cooling and there were a bunch of point-seven outs.

Anyway, a shooter made the point and mum-mouth the stickwoman didn't call out winner. The dealers started paying the line and we waited maybe 15 to 20 seconds.... then roared all together as loud as we can "ALL RIGHT!!! WINNAH!!!!"
It startled the rest of the table, got the boxman's attention, embarrassed mum-mouth the stickwoman, and after an awkward moment the whole table erupts in laughter.

Hey, sometimes you gotta make your own fun....

Definitely...enjoy it and make it fun!

I dislike when it is a slow table and the dealers are gossiping amongst themselves.

At the local place I shoot at the most I know the graveyard shift well and we all have a good time even when there is one of two of us on the table at 5am and even though we may be BS'ing about sports or current events they are attentive and overall really good.

Roger that. This has got to be one of the top reasons I will color out and leave the table.

The world’s worst craps dealers. You literally need to watch them like a hawk. I get the surly attitude routine but when the dealers are incompetent as well there’s a problem. It’s been a few years since I’ve played there but I just found it to be too unenjoyable to return again.

Hey! You made it to the board. Welcome. The box men are a-holes. The little short Italian threw me outta there one time, jerk that he is. The box sweats the money, the clientele can be idiotic newbie drunks, and the dealers can be inattentive. All of this taking place in a haze of smoke. Not a good Vegas experience.

CR used to be craps heaven,,,,,$1 min. w/ 100x odds....the pit would allow "put" bets....now, the players seem to be either drunk newbies, field bet bettors and older female crap virgins....my experience with the virgins (Craps :evillaugh) is they blow, so to speak....more often than not, the results mirror what you experienced.....the topper to that place is the lack of professional demeanor of the crew.....now I remember why I stopped going there...
