How strict is the California with the 72 hrs between reservations rule? Do they make exceptions for emerald card holders? I don't have a host at California because most of my play is at GC and SC.

Since you're Emerald, they know you're a heavy player...but I doubt that'll get you MUCH leeway at Downtown Boyd...(I had a friend who was Emerald @ GC, and didn't get SQUAT downtown Boyd)

Thanks TImspeed. I will find out next week. I already have a reservation for 8/31. Their online reservation system let me reserve a room for 9/2-5. Otherwise I am triple booked at RR and SP.

Of course you could stay at MSS and avoid the rule. I have stayed back to back at the Cal and MSS before, no problems. I regard MSS and Cal to be the same hotel since they are connected by the overhead walkway. Unfortunately MSS is on average $5 to $10 a night more but it is easy to check out of one place and into the other (if rooms are available) so it is very convenient to have bookings at both hotels.

Good point. Stay at both. The hassle is pretty minimal. Boyd is fine with you hopping between their properties with a comp. I'm doing 2 nights MSS, followed by 3 nights Sam's Town, followed by 3 nights at the California (first time staying there). These are all free room nights. I'm only a Sapphire. The free shuttle between Sam's Town and downtown makes this a breeze.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Unfortunately, I never get comped room offers for MSS even though the majority of my downtown VP/BJ time is at MSS.

I never get comps either but with the resort fee thing lately I noticed that the Cal and MSS rates are almost similar to most other hotel casinos (if not better).
