I just got back from my first trip to the Stratosphere. I had a Select room and I totally loved the place.

Just the right amount of crowded, outstanding service by everyone I encountered, and I didn't feel like I was constantly being ripped off like most other strip places. Played volleyball at the pool, ate at Roxy's (2x) and McCall's Heartland Grill...both had gluten free options for the wife too. Saw the Frankie Moreno show for free, which was one of the best show's I've seen. Lots of bars, restauants, and stuff to do. Also the area outside the hotel was fine during the day, and will probably continue to get better when SLS and Walgreens opens.

Strat has won a spot in my hotel rotation.

I stayed there last year and I thought it was a good place to stay, nice room and the casino was good and I mostly played VP at the bar, great food in Roxy's as well

I too like the Strat and wish they would return the 8/5 BP to the sports book bar- but we get treated very well there.
The host we have (Ron Guse) is highly responsive and helpful.
Regular FP, free rooms and free meals come regularly.
It is also hard to beat the view from the Top of the World restaurant.

Have stayed twice, and even got married there, I love the place. Rooms are very nice, service is top notch and the casino has a nice layout and comps are generous. I would stay again and again.

Just for fun. In case you didn't know or noticed on of the legs on the tower is not
even with the others. You see the Stratosphere wasn't always the Stratosphere. It
was Vegas World where owner Bob Stupak held court. Bob Stupak felt when the
tower was planned he could save money by over seeing it himself instead of hiring
someone with experience. Well as a result one of the legs didn't pan out and people
with real experience had to come in and fix the screw up.

Please have fun going up the tower! I do remember going to Las Vegas and seeing
    the ongoing construction.
