These 4 weeks, second week of August to second week of September, are when I usually go to Vegas the most.

I can't go this year because of a $4K roof, a $4K back state tax and penalty, a $6K dental bridge and about another $1.5K assorted dental work ate all of my vacation money for the year.

I am really feeling it now. My brain knows it should be packing and driving to the airport. Flying west and watching the landscape go from farmland to cattle land to mountains to desert.

I should be seeing the green MGM and the gold Mandalay Bay out the window. I should be getting a taxi to The Mirage.

I should be unpacking in my room, drinking 2 ice cold Bud 16's and doing my Vegas dance at the window.

    And on and on.

I should be doing that right now. I can't even remember the last time I missed and entire calendar year of going to Las Vegas.:cry::peace::thumbsdown:

I probably shouldn't mention that I am going again on Sunday for the fourth time since July 4th...... And a calendar year without Vegas is totally unacceptable.

But I agree, you should be seeing the gold of Mandalay and the green of MGM. I'm at Mirage for two and Cromwell for two next week. I shall do it up properly for you as I feel your pain on the bills. Clearly Fate feels your hard earned money should be someplace other than CET and MGM!

    Hi Breeze,
Sorry to hear you won't be able to go this year, that sucks.
However, you made me laugh when you mentioned your Vegas dance, because I have my own private "Winning!" shuffle that I do, whenever I am having a great trip: everything already comped, AND I am ahead big time. There is no other/better feeling in the world than getting PAID to have fun in Las Vegas!
    Winning, Chalie Sheen-style!
So hope you make it out soon, and get to do your dance.

I totally understand. My finances are tighter now than in the past. That combined with some health issues with my parents have kept me away for a year now. Finally going back a the end of September, breaking a 13 month hiatus.

Fell your pain, Breeze. I had an 18mo hiatus and it sucked.

It'll make next year even that much more exciting if you haven't landed in the psychiatric ward by then. Maybe you can make next year's trip a couple of months early. But until your next trip I guess you will have to live vicariously through everybody else's VMB posts.

Hey Breeze, I am feeling for you. I know it's no consolation, but life happens. What's good is you had the funds to take care of all this and you aren't in any debt behind it.

So, when you are past this and you are planning your next trip - GO ALL OUT!!! Make sure you make up for lost time!

Sorry breeze, i had a slight hiccup in 2011 when my stroke inhibited me from Sin City for about 9 months (although technically i haven't missed at least one trip in a year to Vegas since 1977, i was in Vegas May 2011 and my stroke happened in June).
I'll be there this Sunday..........i don't drink beer but i'll swig a 16 oz Hires Root Beer for you.

    That is rough.
I am going soon and you can read my trip report if that helps.
It will be just like you were there. :peace:
