Look's like our trip this fall. I will be staying at Caesars in a suite courtesy of my buddy's comps!

I have not stayed there before, and haven't played Caesar's/TR props (except quad for some VP briefly in June) since they were called Harrah's Properties.
I just made Pearl at MGM, but points will reset before I get there and am not planning to play enough to get Pearl again and go for gold, I don;t want to chase comps, so I think I may try to switch loyalty clubs (Good move??)

    What's to expect there?
    Best spot for breakfast?
    How's the gym facilities?
Whats the BJ table limit/rules situation? Craps?
I have no idea what tower, but can you rank them best to worse, then I will lower my expectations and be happy when its better!
Is there a decent VP bar that comps good drinks or am I better to go over to the quad/linq and play for some good microbrews?

lastly, my friend had Diamond Club access, he says he can take me. What's to expect inside? I honestly do not know.

I can only speak to some of your questions. Specifically, the gym is really nice. It's on the second floor near the Augustus and Octavius towers. Lots of breakfast spots depending on what you're looking for. Java Coast in the little food court in the Forum Casino has great coffee drinks and a good selection of pastries. There's also a Starbucks near the Augustus tower. Payardes is supposed to be quite good for bigger breakfast, but pricier. The Diamond Lounge is simply a room with TVs and a nice bar and couches where you can go during the evening and drink for free. For short periods of times on certain days (weekends only, I think), they put out some simple appetizer types of stuff. Hope you have a great time.

Caesar's Palace has the best craps out of all the Total Rewards casino's. (i.e. hardways/horn pay 15 TO 1, instead of 15 FOR 1). Also, they have a higher max bet for when you get that 2 hour roll...

Actually, the Diamond lounge is open from 4 - 9 Monday - Thursday and 12 - 9 Friday and Saturday. It varies a bit by casino but at Caesars, they serve chicken wings and one other warm dish between 4 - 6 daily and have chips, veggies with dip and small deserts the rest of the time. You get better drinks in there but please remember to tip the servers. I would rate the towers as follows from best to worst:
Augustus tied with Octavius (Augustus rooms are a bit bigger and closer to the lobby, Octavius are newer and closer to the pool.
    Palace
    Forum
Roman - stay away from these.

There's also the NOBU tower which is a hotel within the hotel but I have not stayed there and have no idea what the rooms are like.

You can get a free coffee and cookies in the Diamond check-in in the mornings or they have free coffee by the regular Augustus/Octavius check-in desk.

Love Caesars, have a great time!

Expect that by the end of your trip you'll still not be quite sure when to make a left or a right in the casino to get where you're going. ;-)

It still has managed to keep some old school vibe while having the new larger than life feel to it. Have fun.

Roman--don't bother, most rooms at "lesser" casinos are nicer
Forum--fine, nothing special, very average room
Palace Tower & above all very very nice rooms

Caesars is so big that what you want to do is see what part of the casino appeals to you and pick a corner to inhabit. I generally get good CW service and it's one casino where I make a point to people watch.

I usually go light for breakfast at CP and if I want more substantial I usually go off property. I usually hit Java Coast which is a traditional coffee stand or Payard's which has both quick serve pastries and crepes and well as a sit down bistro. There is also Starbucks but it's always crowded most of the day. The sit down restaurant is Central. The food was good but not as impressive as the cost.

If your friend is being comped a suite, I would expect you are in least Palace Tower. But I am going to bet that even if some of the standard rooms in older towers may be out of date, they have still invested in keeping suites in those towers up to date. I wouldn't worry over where you end up.

As for switching players clubs, I'm not in a position to suggest leaving Mlife because I don't have enough experience with them. But my personal experience with Total Rewards has been that if you don't need suites and full RFB and all that, they are capable of treating you pretty well even if you take time to play elsewhere. It's up to you if you want to rank high with them or not. In my experience if you track as if you are capable of acheiving a higher rank, that is reflected in their offers.

Okay, stupid question time, (I did try some google searches before posting but I'm either querying incorrectly or most sites just explain the TO part), what is the difference between 15 TO 1 vs 15 FOR 1? I'm guessing a $10 bet on 15 to 1 pays $160 (house adds 15 units to your one) and the same $10 bet at 15 for 1 pays $150 (the house trades you 15 units for your 1), is that right?

I was quite surprised to see 50K max at a $10 table. 100K table aggregate though.

Not sure about craps, but for blackjack, the $50k bet hasn't been available since this past March when they changed the rules. Now need a $1 mil credit line or front money for $50k.

Regional Horseshoes still have $25k limit for anybody. Although the casino a bit behind the other tier 1 properties, for blackjack still the biggest action anywhere in Vegas.

I stayed last year at caesars
My host couldnt get me a suite but i got a room which very much looked like a suite
Had also a very nice view of the belaggio fountains( im not sure which tower i stayed, i think it was roman or augustus...im not sure)
Had a corner room with even a doorbell:), yacuzzi ,tv and shower in bathroom
Also minibar( which i didnt like as im a bit frugal-> wanna have a fridge so i can stuff stuff in it)
Furthermore even as a diamond i had to pay for the spa( all other cet properties its free) but the spa is i think the nicest around..even an artic room where its snowing
    The gym is free though
Diamondlounge in caesars is also the best
Try also the best buffet there and thats the bacchanal( cost you 40$ but its worth it)...go with your friend though as it can be busy and if yer not diamond u can have a waitingtime for at least an houre( diamond line is within 5 minutes)
Pool is also pretty nice...except on weekends it can be rather busy( had it once that there were no chairs available anymore)
Munchies(near pure/pokerroom) you also can have a nice meal
So caesar is pretty much one of the nicest places to stay enjoy

Weirdly, us Europeans don't moan about the Roman tower rooms. They are below American standards, but to Europeans they are pretty good. Except for the ones without a bathroom door (taken off for wheelchair accessibility a while ago).

You were in Augustus Tower if you had a view of the fountains.

I think folks would be fine with the Roman Tower rooms if they were priced like older rooms needing a refresh. Many don't feel the premium you pay for the room being in CP is justified. if given the option of taking a Roman room just to get into CP or staying at Bally's, I would take Bally's everytime. For CP to work for me, my room has to lux.

Yeah they price the Roman Tower rooms for what a room at V/P or Wynn is going for some times.

Cp is always my place. Making my 4th trip of the year there in October. I think you'll love it. It'll take a day to figure out where your going cause it's huge. Bj rules are mostly great, 2-1, double any card, das. One exception is the pussycat dolls tables...stay away, far away! As mentioned the line at Starbucks is super long. It can be avoided though as it has a diamond line usually w nobody or 1 person. In it(the people in the regular line aren't happy about that!) I find payard great for breakfast pastries and egg sandwiches. If you want to splurge the buffet serves a fantastic selection at breakfast. Mesa grill is awesome for brunch. Have a great time!

since we are going during football season, where is the best book to watch and bet, shoudl we stay at Ceasar's? i am guess from my walkthroughs in that place that seating is limited? Mirage next door? we have a crowd of folks. Myself, I want to watch while gambling, so somewhere there are TVs within line of sight of a blackjack table with good rules $25 or under would be ideal...a decent VP bar would make me happy too!

Hotels in Vegas (like anywhere) price on demand at the time. CP always operates at close to occupancy so prices are always high. Why lower prices when you don't need to bring people in? They were walking people to Paris last week because they were over booked.
