    My Trip Report

Getting ready for our early flight out tomorrow of BWI on Southwest. Earlier this summer we spent 3 weeks in Italy and packing for this trip is simple compared to that trip. We are staying at MB, as this is our home base and we continue to get comped rooms, resort credits and free play. My posion is black jack and the occasional slot machine. My wife likes to play slots and low limit blackjack at the Trop (for some reason she likes to play there). She does most of her damage shopping. The only planned activities is L'atelier and MJ One.

Have a great trip. Envy you the 3 weeks in Italy. My favourite place, after Vegas.

Will be staying at Delano on a comp next trip; first time at MB. Not sure how I'll find staying that far south on the Strip, but looking forward to the pool.

We find that MB fits our style. We have been enough times to Vegas that the need to see anything and everything no longer interests us. We also love to walk. We take a break from working out when in Vegas and so in Vegas we walk everywhere. At least twice a trip, I walk with my wife up to the Fashion Show mall and/or the Forum Shops. We also walk up to Crystals and Aria as well. I'm sure we will checkout the Linq this time around as well.

We use to stay at Bellagio and still love the hotel, but sometimes the place gets too crowded. Everyone wants to check out the Bellagio. At MB, you don't get the same traffic, which we see as a bonus. When our host left the Bellagio and moved to Aria, we tried Aria on his recommendation but had a bad experience (we had stuff stolen from our room). We decided to give MB a shot because we love the restaurants. At least twice a trip, we would find ourselves at MB for dinner. I have also discovered that for the most part the dealers and nice and professional and the pit bosses tend to be pretty fun. The spa at the Hotel is very nice as well.

I think you may be pleasantly surprised. However, I recognize that this hotel is not for everyone.

Great intro to your TR! I love the restaurant selection at MB. Strip Steak is my favorite steakhouse, and Red Square has always been a culinary delight, perhaps because of their vodka samplers. They give you four vodka glasses of different vodkas. Vodka glasses are a little larger than shot glasses so imagine drinking the volume of around six shots.

Just checked in. Quickest flight ever. Landed 30 minutes early and was at MB 30 minutes later. Baggage was out in no time. We were upgraded to a suite and we are a couple floors below the Foundation Room with the same view of the strip that one gets from the FR. Best view we have had in Vegas. Off to get lunch shortly; likely Burger Bar.

I have only stayed at MB twice and both times I got the room so I can use the POOL and once was over 14 years ago and the other was 3 years ago. I didn't like the room. I do like the High Limit area so I do gamble there.

How are your rooms? I heard that they are going to start to remodel the rooms in 2015.

    I'll be there on Wednesday.

    Good start on the TR.

Played some double deck blackjack and had a small loss. Of course, the person who didn't play by the book ended up winning a couple grand. We are exhausted so we are calling it a night. We both worked around 80 hours this week and were up at 3 est. Had dinner at Wolfgang Puck's Pizzeria and Cucina and we were pleasantly surprised. We decided to hit it on the way back from our walk over to the Linq. Had nice happy hour specials that run all day at the bar. We were not impressed by the Linq but we thought the Cromwell was nicely put together.

They need to demolish Excalibur. The door going to and from the strip looks like it is a breeding ground for the Ebola virus. Fucking disgusting.

Tomorrow the plan is to get the drink on, hit the table while the wife hits the shops and then have a great dinner at L'atelier de Joel Robuchon.

Will take some pictures of the room and the view and post when I have a chance.

i have to agree with you about Excaliber. I mean how much would it cost to just change that carpet? Looking forward to your trip holding me over until we arrive at MB on Wed.

Excalibur kills me. Had the worst double deck blackjack luck ever there ... dealer hit six 21s in a row. Killer. Hate that place. Won't set foot in it.

    Love L'Atelier. This trip rocks!

Would love to see photos of your view from the room. Ughhhhh. Excalibur; I felt like I needed to take an immediate shower last time I walked through the place.

I presume the table was empty by the sixth time he hit 21?

Yours is the only live trip report I will follow. I am interested in all things MB only because I have fallen in love with it since my first stay there this past June. I have established a relationship with MGM properties, something I thought I'd never do. And of the properties, MB suits me nicely. Number 1 reason is the location. Like you, after all my years and trips to Vegas, the "thick of the strip" doesn't interest me. Perhaps for a dinner or a show, but I like to get in and get out. With MB being at the every end, I don't get caught up in heavy vehicle and foot traffic. Besides, it is a beautiful and classy property. You don't see much rif-raf there.

Vegasgroove I agree. When I was younger I always wanted to be center strip. Couldn't understand what my friends saw in MB. Now I get it. We rent a car and there are tons of ways to get in and out of MB parking. I can get to fashion show mall much more quickly from MB than I can from Bellagio. There are great restaurants to choose from the pool is awesome and the casino is Huge with a great atmosphere. I'm excited that they rooms at getting upgraded as they are looking pretty run down. Even the suites were looking pretty bad last summer when we took the family and stayed in a 2 bedroom.
