My old soundbar died, so I have ordered a new one. It comes with 2 optical inputs, which is good, since my Blu Ray & DVD/cable box have those outputs and I won't be screwing with that anymore. But, my old soundbar had RCA/phono inputs and I used that for a 200 disk CD player and this one doesn't have that. It is Bluetooth capable and has a mini jack for a MP3 type player.

What are my options to get my CD player connected? I've been Goggling for some kind of adapter, but no luck so far. I'm also not certain what I should be looking for.

    Would this work?

Joe if there is an electronics store / best buy / etc. near you you might try and take a pic of the item or stk# or whatever and show the technician(?) what you need. It will save on the shipping which can be more than the needed item in some cases. Good luck with all of it.... glad to know it wasn't hearing aid related....haha

Ordered it today and even with shipping it is below half of what Radio Shack & Best Buy want for it and theirs are only 3' long.

I would say never buy the expensive cable from those places. Monster is a scam, sure the are pretty and all but the audio won't sound better. I remember a guy at Best Buy telling me that the electrons travle faster through Monster cable.

You mentioned that your soundbar has two optical inputs. I didn't know that soundbars had processing and amplification capabilities in order to use the optical inputs. I guess I'll check out what kinds of soundbars there are.

I waiting for arrival, but my new one is a LG 280W.

My old one one was a Vizio and it had one optical and two RCA type. I have two optical outputs, the dvr & Blu Ray. I tried using a optical splitter in reverse and it would have worked, even though manufacturer said it wouldn't. It only cost $3.50, while they were selling combiners for ~$25. But it can only have one input at a time lit and the TW DVR never shuts off the optical, even when the box is off.

So then I bought a optical switch and that was a waste. So in the end, I would get up and swap inputs on the sound bar. Except, I eventually wore out the optical input on the bar. They wanted over $100 to fix it, so what the hell, bought a new one with two optical inputs.

Why don't you just use the one optical off your tv and then you wont need two into the soundbar?

My guess is that he's saying your TV as an audio router to the soundbar. Some broadcast speak for Joe's pleasure!

Think you need stuff with HDMI. Makes things very simple. You just might be out of luck. Don't think you can use an adapter. You might try like the place I suggested for cables, blue jean and send then an e-mail with your problem. If there is a cable or adapter that will fix things, they should have it or they will tell you S O L.
