Packer, how did you arrive at that figure? My math could easily be wrong, but it seems you're applying a 5% HA to blackjack. One of us is way off (easily could be me). What am I missing?

Yes, exactly this. For BJ theo is generated at about 0.53x average bet per hour, and you get ~30 TCs per $ theo. Both ways it works out to about $470.

Thanks. That's what I thought. packer's post had me concerned that I had been miscalculating my BJ theo for the past year. Wish it was his formula though,

Interesting. At $472.50 worth of theo and $900/hand average per hour and .5% house advantage, that's 105 hands per hour.

    Sounds about right to me.

I have always calculated it with fewer hands per hour, but a house edge of .75%. Works out about the same

Paperposter - Do you know the person who gave you this information well enough that they would give you a straight answer as to whether or not they apply a skill factor into their ratings?

to add to the thread theo 473

wether you play head to head or 6 at a table mlife rates you by the time ,they dont care

also if you play basic stragey or count, do cart wheels or play real crappy and split tens you all get rated the same, just confirmed that

I agree, although I have been using .54. I still have not quite nailed down tier credits - seems like sometimes it works out to 30/$ theo (like in this case), but more recently for me it has been 33 (so 100 tier credits per $3 of theo).

I should note that this does not tell you if they are using 90 hands an hour with .6% HA, 72 hands and .75% HA, 60 hands and .9% HA, or any of the infinite other combinations of hands and HA.

If you look at the table on the bottom of this page from the Wizard's site that he's had up for a long time and says came from a casino and is used for comp purposes, and compare it to this table a blogger posted that many here believe came from MGM (and the blogger is/was a host) you'll see they reconcile with each other perfectly so I think these are very likely the actual numbers - at least for MGM.

For example for the Wizard's numbers for the 5 main games of BJ, craps, bacc, 0 roulette, 00 roulette work out to 0.53x, 0.76x, 0.86x, 0.91x, 2.0x avg bet per hour respectively. These are exactly the same as the numbers on the blogger's table.

The only one I have a hard time understanding though is craps since there are so many different ways to play. I can't imagine they rate someone who just plays pass or don't with full odds the same as someone who plays a bunch of the props.

Thanks. .76 should get me a pretty good theo. Does ADT figure in last 12 months, 12 sessions? Any idea what the period considered is?
