I usually feel sad thinking I didn't just relax and enjoy myself enough. So I start thinking about the next trip.

agree. that's kind of how I found this forum (searching misc things about Vegas). Vegas allows me to live larger than I am. It's not reality to me. I get free food, rooms, limos, etc. I'm treated like I have a million bucks yet I don't play like I do. I have fun, I'm entertained, and it's an escape like no other. I got back two weeks ago and I'm already trying to find time for the next trip!

truth be told I should stop reading the social feeds related to vegas and forums like this, because it only increases the desire to return to vegas..

I am in the middle of PVD right now. Post Vegas Depression. Got back on July 5 after seven nights. Was SOOO not ready to go home, even though I was tired. Maybe because I won the last night and wanted to go back and gamble some more....or shop....or gamble! Probably going back for Christmas, looking at airfare. Toooo long!

Another thing I do when I am there and on my last day...always tell myself that if I win the final day or if I am up for the trip I will extend my trip by a day or two. My boss is a craps player and is cool about me calling and saying "two more days, bossman".

A couple years ago on SB weekend I didn't want to leave. I laid in my bed at The Venetian and called Continental and switched my flights (no charge at that time) and then walked down to the front desk and asked them to call and see if they could add two extra nights. Sure, no problem! Sauntered back upstairs like I won a damn jackpot...two more days in Vegas!

Back in the day I used to do weekend trips, flying out on Friday and taking the redeye back to NY on Sunday. I gambled mostly at MGM and Bellagio and would walk back and forth between them multiple times per day. I have vivid memories of calling the airline the day of my flight while I was walking between those two casinos to change it to the next day, just on a whim. Usually it meant I was down and chasing though, much less wise than your reason for extending your trips.

lol a few of my trip extensions have been chasers too.

Extended one once and as soon as I was finished with the logistics I walked over to the craps table. It was relatively empty so I waited for my turn to shoot. $15 on the line, 5x odds and went $260 across. I was due for a hot one, right? SEVEN OUT. Jeez.

Living in New Orleans, I have the reverse feelings when it comes to trips and when you take them. I love love love October trips. Football season, storm season ending, weather getting cooler, etc. May trips are bad. Heat setting in, storm season ahead, etc.

Wow! So many of us in this same Post Vegas Blues boat! We've been back a month, and I keep thinking, "this time last month...." but mostly wondering what's WRONG with me??? The ultimate high is the 30 days or so leading up to the trip---the planning, visualizing,... But the ultimate low is the Post Vegas Blues! Planning the next trip used to help, but that's not a possibility these days due to some unforeseen circumstances we are dealing with (serious illness of an immediate family member and resulting treatments) and the uncertainty that goes along with it. Of course, family is our absolute priority, and I feel guilty for even wanting to slip away from THIS reality and back to that fun, crazy, place in the desert. So I will live vicariously through everyone else's trips....

I always joke with my employees that there are 2 valid reasons for being late....and one of them is being stuck at the craps table!

Since we fly out to Vegas 3 or 4 times per year (one week stays each trip), we typically have the next trip already booked when we come home from a current trip. For example, we already have our September and November trips all set with airfare and our room at MSS.

So, instead of being sad that we came home from Vegas, we are eagerly happy that another trip is on the horizon.

I vote you Boss of The Year, sir. Never walk away from a heater!

Is the other valid reason getting stuck in traffic on 35?!?!

I used to work in Austin years ago and traffic wasn't too bad. But a couple weeks ago I was up in Salado for a golf tournament...first time in a long time I have been up that way. The new tollway bypassing Austin is great. However I got off in Round Rock and 35 was disgusting.

The other reason is when your sig other loses the keys to the handcuffs :wink2: (well at least getting busy with another warm body all morning is a valid excuse)

The traffic in Austin now rivals some big cities during rush hour. I sit in traffic like I used to in other cities. Getting worse every year. I'd say 50% of my employees now work at home or flexed hours to avoid the traffic.

    Haha nice.

I mean I live in Houston so that is a clusterfk in its own right but seeing Austin like it is now was mind boggling. I didn't even recognize most of it!

This past trip was the first time we committed to the next trip before coming home. It's also the first time we're going twice in a year. I was still very cranky at the airport on the way home but that could have been a number of factors. I think my post Vegas blues has to do with going back to the routine at home, making meals, grocery shopping, no valet to park the car for me, stuff like that. And then I do come home exhausted physically which doesn't help. So, I'm exhausted, trying to make dinner and just generally whining and moping.

Agreed. I come home and start thinking about how lame my hometown is. Can't stay out until dawn...limited places to eat...no neon lights...can't walk down the street with a Margarita in hand....no waterfall at my pool....crazy humidity...blah....blah...blah. So, I get through knowing that my next trip is always 'just' around the corner. Sometimes a year away, sometimes two months away. Anyway, it gives me something to look forward to!

Worse than post Vegas depression is when a trip gets called called or delayed. Or you just can't go for a stretch of time due to life giving you a smack down.
