Does anyone know if the casino bar outside Mesa Grille has re-opened?
I tried asking over at the other place and got zilch.

There are a couple of things going on there:

A big chunk of the area near Mesa and the sports book has been converted to a poker room. The bar that was there and slots and I think I few tables they used for overflow are gone.

A big chunk of the more informal back seating area of the sports book is blocked off by tall wooden panels and there is construction going on in there.

So when you approach the sports book from either direction, you can barely tell it's there, you can just see some of the largest screens, unless you make your way into it, which I haven't.

I think the poker room is more or less permanent, and the construction that is going on that can't been seen is to reconfigure the seating area for the sports book, and/or add a bar there. I think they need some sort of bar there to service that whole area from the sports book up to the entrance of the Forum shops.

    Thanks Chuck...that's what I feared.
PP - yes, that's the one. Bartenders used to wear ref jerseys. We always liked the place.

I just walked through there on the way back to the room. The construction boards they have up to shield the construction have a lot of ads on them, but it it does say in so many words, that they want to improve the sports book, and it will include a bar.

Yes, the bar that's gone had the tenders with the ref jerseys. I wouldn't be surprised if if re-appeared, maybe with less seating in the book itself. Right now, there's almost no seating in the book, less than 1/2 the area it used to be.

I don't want to contradict paper based on no inside info, but I don;t think the current construction area is to expand Pure or the Pussy party pit, it's right where they used to have 1/2 of the serious betting stations, and the more relaxed sofas and chairs for the sport book. I always thought Pure was either upstairs or behind its marked entrance, but I don't really know.

There is still a shitload of open space in that area though, where you turn that curve, so maybe there's more construction to come.

They may be servicing that whole area of the casino from the slushie bar near the TR desk, I dunno. That's what it looks like.

what i belive there expanding pure is where the bathrooms and where the pooker room was i belive those walls are being knocked down to enlarge pures dance floor to add to the other floor and yes theres an outdoors already how much more of the sports book or onto the casino floor over there there are taking over i dont know.

i know most clubs are around 70,000 sq ft now if that gives some idea

it wont effect the pussycat dealers atleast i dont think so then again it could be where all the people line up and table service guests are, i guess we will have to wait 6 months and see

I actually had never seeen a poker room at Ceasars before. The one that's there now is all new since January. It's just freestanding area with nice looking signage and boundary they carved out from the sports book and that old bar.

Aria had some WPT tourney or something while I was there and had carved out about an equivalent temporary area, but not permanant.
Would be interesting to see the poker scruff lining up next to the club crowd, oughta be interesting for a few fisticuffs.

Yep CP's old poker room was very hidden. Those not intentionally looking for it missed it most of the time. I find it amazing they bothered not to ditch poker altogether together after the club expansion...not like they got good traffic there. Outside of Planet Ho and maybe Flamingo and Bally's...CET is a live poker disaster (hint: 2+2'ers hate $5 max rake with only $1/hr comp). The new CP room is testing a $4 max rake and $2/hr comp though...traffic is a little better because of it...but still meh

Just got back from our stay at Caesars. The sports book bar is what is being built in the "box" in the sports book. It will open in sept according to Anthony one of the bartenders who have just been reassigned until it opens. From what he said there are going to be 35 or 36 vp seats.

All bar areas are slated to be redone in the next year or so. Seahorse is next and then the whole food court including Slice will be renovated.
