So i was curious and went to westardho.com and it came up with a new website. Looks like they partnered up with the nugget for all there old westward ho customers. If you were a westward ho player they are giving you a special rate. I put a request in to see what i would get when i head out in september.

Has anyone else inquired this and did you get a better rate than the golden nugget website.

No I didn't try that. I remember that right after the Ho closed I got offers from Riviera targeting former Ho guests. Thought that was odd and Golden Nugget even more so. El Cortez to Ho would be more what I would expect.

Bkoelsch: Thanks for the heads-up; that's really interesting. I still have my Ho card and would like to know what my "special" rate at the GN would be. However, the link goes to a reservation request page which includes, "Once you've submitted your room reservation request, please allow up to 48 hours for processing and we'll personally call you back with your reservation number and details." That's all fine and dandy, but at the moment, I just want prices. Maybe once I get around to actually booking, I'll give it another shot.

I'm curious to see what they are going to offer when they call me back. I even emailed them later that night with the my old players card number from the HO. I will keep everyone updated.

Thanks, I'm sure many of us ex Ho players will be real curious to hear what the deal is.

Oh, tried entering the URL for the Stardust and a couple other long gone casinos, but haven't found anything good so far! :)

But will they offer a 3/4 pound hot dog to the former Ho's?

So i call the number on that website, it starts out with music for about 30 seconds, then a recording comes on saying this person is away or not available please leave a message. We will see if they call back or this website is a scam.

I thought the webpage might be a remnant from several years ago, but the 2014 at the bottom of the page seems to indicate otherwise. Considering that the Ho closed in November 2005 and was demolished a year later, it might have made a lot more sense to go after the displaced players several years ago. Why now? (I watched some of the debris being removed from my room in the Stardust – RIP.) Anyway, thanks for trying. I'll stay tuned – same bat time, same bat channel.

I used to play at 'the Ho' during every trip...many hours a day. Loved the "feel" of the place...plus, their steak & egg breakfast was absolutely delicious & always a very-easy comp.

But I was more upset that all of my Stardust points evaporated. I had been a loyal & regular customer there for many years, and when the Fremont told me that those points were gone, I was a bit upset.
To be fair though, Boyd has been very good to me since then, so I suppose that makes up for it.

If the Nugget is actually going to give former Ho players their rooms at the Westward Ho rate (I'm skeptical!), I may actually stay there again. $29 a night, including Fridays & Saturdays, would be too good to pass up...again, I'm very skeptical.

If this gets confirmed, I'll dig up my old player's card & give it a shot on my next trip (in 2015).

Well, I guess you could call the main reservation people, but more than likely, they'll think you're a lunatic! Thanks for trying; and who knows, maybe you'll get a reply one day.

So the nugget replies back with this...

    Thank you,

I called another number on that westward ho site and left a message. The website says 3 free nights for ho players.

    ****UPDATED****

Jeffrey the old vp at the westward ho just sent an email and it sounds like this site is brand new. He is getting the offer up and running now. I will be contacted next week, he needs to pull my file to check play. We will see what my offer will be.

He has an offer code posted now. Looking forward to seeing what you guys find out. I had a Ho players card but stuck to their JoB video poker machines. Doubt I was rated.

This is looking more encouraging. I'm guessing that a notice to ex Ho players will appear on the GN main page when they're ready to do something. Meanwhile, I'll start looking for my old player's card. Thanks for the updates.

I remember paying $15 bucks per night at the Ho in the 90's. You're lucky to get that amount for your "resort fee" these days-lol.

He must be referring to the below on that site. The thing looks like it was set up by an old-timer so maybe not a scam. Surprised they still have records of play from the Ho. How long ago did it shut down? Weird...
