First time it happened to me.

Was up pretty good for the night, 60k, and they backed me off middle shoe in DD. Colored me up and sent me on my way.

Whats your experience in returning? How long before they recognize me next time? Should i not return and just go elsewhere?

Anyone been backed off on the strip?

That sucks I have not been backed off before. I was told I could not raised the table limits once I started playing.

Funny thing was I was on a hot streak and Pit Boss said you can be table max when you want but I get to shuffle anytime I want. I told him to raise the table Max to what I want and he can shuffle after every hand.

He made a few calls and came back and said no. The table max is posted. I was the only one playing single deck. with a 3-2 bj. This was Downtown. ( only ones offering 3-2 blackjack on single deck. I was betting 1k a hand and wanted to bet $5k a hand.

Was this on the strip or Downtown?

The Strip would have no problem with $5k or $10k but only offerrd 6-5 on single deck.

Yeah that happened to me once at Casino Royale... I was flat betting quarters & they asked me to back down to nickels.... bazzzingaaaa ....Lol ... Sad part is Casino Royale does sweat the money when you have a lot on the craps table during a hot roll.

Does getting backed off for general hygiene issues count?

But seriously if you're counting and you're up 60k wouldn't you expect it? At that level they will be closely watching your play whether you're counting or not so how would you cover yourself?

When they tell you that you can no longer play black jack at the casino, usually happens if they think you are counting cards.

it means the casino tells you that you can no longer play that game and they give you no reason why.....sometimes they will "welcome" you to go play some other game or a slot machine, but sometimes they will also ask you to leave the casino

generally it is when you are winning too much and they have no proof that you are cheating most likely because you are not cheating......if they suspected you of cheating they would take different measures including taking you into security and attempting to withhold your winnings from you

when you are backed off they have no proof and really no suspicions that you are doing anything wrong other than counting cards at blackjack......in Las Vegas casinos are allowed to ask you to stop playing and leave if they suspect you are counting cards even though that is not cheating.....in Atlantic City they are NOT allowed to ask you to leave if they suspect you are counting cards because card counting is not using an unfair advantage other than your mental skills and technique

but they can make it difficult for you by shuffling the cards often, sending in employees to aggressively ask you if you would like something to drink or eat hoping to get your mind off the count and break your concentration, having people sit next to you and do stupid things like play terribly or make noise or just be stupid, have "host" come introduce themselves over and over until you either break or give up and leave to somewhere else

PLaying 1-7 DD, ESPECIALLY at that level, you must play hit and run, unless you have an unbelievable way of disguising your play. I wouldnt go back for a while. And when i do, different shift.

    So this.

I would love the detailed story about how OP got up 60k. Counting or not.

I have only a basic understanding of counting but does it work on a DD game? I'd think the deck gets reshuffled so often that there would be relatively few opportunities to get to advantageous counts.

it would work best in a game with the fewest decks possible

it is much easier to track the count and when the count gets to a point that you are either upping your bet greatly or you are lowing your bet significantly you are much more likely to have the anticipated outcome of the remaining hands and less likely to have one of the last face card or two or the last small cards (depending on what place you are in the count) pop up

if you have 8 aces VS 32 aces you have a much easier time knowing how many aces have been played and if you have 32 face cards and 10s VS 80 you have a much easier time anticipating that you have run out of many of those and there will be fewer surprises

even with multiple decks it would be very rare that the count reached an extremely high or low level to give you just massive confidence in what would most likely be next to happen and even then if you really go "all in" in a major way and one of the last few cards you did not want shows up that can be a big hit to the bankroll and the you have to keep playing large with that large count to get even and then ahead again.....all with the risk that things could still go against you just because of the vast numbers of small and high cards total

You are accurately explaining the true count concept. Basically the fewer decks, the more often the count changes in a meaningful way. You always need to know how many decks roughly are left, as that dictates the actual number. Now, the flip side of that is when paying shoe games a positive or negative count lasts 3 times longer. Accordingly, it can be harder to pick up someone spreading bets on a shoe game (your bets are less volatile, more consistent, and less obviously tied to the last few hands).

Going back to OP, looks like you have confirmation that you were correctly adjusting to the count. I personally wouldn't try doing itvat that casino for a while.
