Has anyone who stayed in hose rooms experienced any mold issues? My husband really wants to stay there but I read somewhere that there is a mold problem and I have really bad allergies. Also, how is the view??

    Thanks!

We have never had any problem with mold and we have stayed in these rooms dozens of times. The view will either be west toward Caesars or south toward Ballys. We have usually preferred the south view because you get a great view of the Bellagio fountains as well and these rooms don't have the wrap advertisement covering the windows. However, with the opening of the pool/nightclub on the roof of Cromwell, the noise could be an issue on that side going forward.

Never experienced any mold issues either...have stayed in both the west and south view rooms. I was just in a south facing room a week ago or so, and had the same thoughts about the rooftop night club on too of the Cromwell....its not known how the noise/music etc will be.

Always used to stay there....never ANY issues with mold.....I'd 2nd the South Facing View over the West/Caesars view due to the stupid Donny and Marie signage covering the windows...

Love staying at Flamingo...We always get a go lux with strip view room and have never been disappointed. Never been lower than the 26 floor. So happy with Flamingo...Center strip...great prices and great view.

    How dare you, GChrome.

NOTHING epitomizes Las Vegas, Entertainment and overall Glee than Donny & marie Osmond. They are on, dare I say, a Mormon Mission to make us all happy!

What about a FAB Luxury with Strip View? I have one booked for my trip the first week of June. Are those rooms any good?

Well, bottom line, Flamingo is a little gross.. it's old, it's only 3 star hotel, barely. You could have issues. Last time I was there my room was fine. But the halls and the room smelled like BO.

I would not want a strip view there anymore, the Cromwell noise till 4 am will be horrible!!

Total B.S. on the smelling like B.O. I have intentionally walked the halls on several levels. And it's not gross. It's a decent, clean hotel with bad hallway carpet.

The Go rooms are definitely the preferred room with the pillowtop mattresses and TV in bathroom & mini-fridge and coffee maker.

Fab Rooms were given a light refresh, however the bathroom equates to a 1980's Holiday Inn. Floor is a laminate that looks like wood but can be slippery with the rugs. Check your footing and you may want to move the rug out of your way totally. So nothing fancy but a very survivable room.

The hallway carpet that was installed was a non-commercial grade - they were screwed over by the company that installed it. Have been told a few of the upper floors have now been redone after Linq was basically complete - but I did forget to go and check that last month.

I have ridden in virtually every elevator on all sets of elevators (spa, habitat & main lobby). I haven't seen all this graffiti people claim is there or anything. I must have missed the one elevator it is on or something. I've seen garbage when going up to the room at night and in the morning they have the cleaning crew carts there and are cleaning the elevators. So I have a very hard time buying the claims that the same garbage was left in elevator for the entire trip.

One of the last complaints I read was that an a/c-heating unit wouldn't work. But their spouse would not let them report it. Well guess what happens then - the next guest gets the same issue. If you do have a problem with anything in your room, call maintenance. I had a plumbing issue one time and they were up within 10 minutes of call to fix it so no need for a room change.

if you do have allergies, avoid the entry right from Margaritaville store into casino and right by the entry to Margaritaville casino next to the liquor store. That area has the coconut smell pumped in & I have bad sinuses so I avoid those two areas. The rest of the casino is not pumped with perfume like some claim. Only place I have ever encountered the scent is the two I mentioned.

I have always avoided the direct strip view as Pure kept me awake at night. They are now doing a remodel, so that would probably be preferable to the south view for noise. I do worry a LOT about the noise from Cromwell so will probably be happy to go back to a garden view. Otherwise, if you have a small 'white noise' machine you can pack, that might help the noise also.

You have tons of food choices available (although I just read on another board last week there is nowhere to eat there). Margaritaville, Carlos & Charlies, Japanese, Café (yes, good food), Buffet (I've never had an issue there except one cranky server), Food Court, java shop. Then you can now cross directly over to Linq alley by the buffet and into the Quad for more choices or out the south door to the Cromwell. Right now it's probably one of the best places on the strip to get access to a ton of different food options.

I was just at the Flamingo this weekend. We stayed in a Go Luxury room facing Caesars. We have stayed in these type rooms many times and have never had an issue with anything. The rooms are always clean, housekeeping is very accommodating (we left a note on Day 1 asking for feather pillows and they were there by bedtime). There is the usual minor traffic stains in the halls, but nothing that I find unappealing. I have been in most elevators and never seen graffiti. Our AC has always worked (sometimes too well). I really like the Flamingo Go Luxury rooms. HOWEVER...and this is a BIG HOWEVER...the noise from the new Drais Nightclub is very annoying and goes on until 4:30-5:00 am in the morning. There is a constant "beat" going and sometimes our windows even vibrated. I heard people staying at the Bellagio front facing were also affected by the noise. I think that this may have to be addressed otherwise this may be the reason people stay away from Flamingo. I would hate to do that because I love staying there and I love having the strip view rooms. But, we gotta sleep sometime while we are in Vegas.

I wanted to chime in as I also stayed in a GO room facing Caesars this past weekend. The rooms were great and clean. No issues to speak of BUT I will agree that there is a constant "beat" heard outside and was somewhat annoying. One night, my better half picked up the phone to call the front desk and complain about the noisy people down the hall. I told her to put the phone down as I didn't think they would head over next door and tell them that "XXX" from next door was trying to sleep but their noise was keeping her awake...I could see this being an issue, especially for those facing the Cromwell.

I have stayed in Go rooms many times. I will say hat vibe often noticed food/trays in the hallways take longer to be picked up than other places I've stayed (admittedly 4 star plus).

Not that it's a reason not to stay there. The new noise reports however...

I'm not lying, it did smell. Not saying the whole property smells, or it smells all the time, but my last experience wasn't that great. That is kind of how the 3 star properties work in Vegas, it's spotty. Some people love it, some hate it. Go read reviews it'll say the same thing.

They won't address the noise thing. I had trouble at PH a few years ago, with the sound from Cosmo. They told us, they have a permit to do that.. nothing they can do about it. They call over there all the time they said.

Also, used to be a bit of a problem the bass from Pure but I guess that won't be a problem now :)
