My wife and I will be taking our first Vegas trip since 2010. I am a Craps player, home near Atlantic City. We are planning to stay at Caesars Palace for 5 nights and our final two nights at Palazzo. Can anyone report current craps conditions at these two casinos, and any other Center Strip houses? eg: Pit heat, table bounce, felt vs. microfiber layout, and any other relevant information. Thanks!

Unless you have a bankroll to play full 3x-4x-5x odds on a $15 minimum pass line bet, I'd recommend going across the street from Caesars to Margaritaville at the Flamingo. There is a $5 minimum craps table there almost all hours of the day, which makes it the cheapest non-Casino Royale table on the strip. It's right by the bar there so on all my trips there I got fairly quick cocktail service.

The field bet only pays 2x on both 2 and 12 there, but if you're playing field bets, you shouldn't be concerned about lower odds :)

I have never seen $15 crap tables at Caesars. They are always $25 or higher. I stayed there back in 09 and even on a Tuesday morning there were no tables under $25.

I was just there with some buddies that aren't high rollers. I played at both, and Caesars had one $10 minimum craps table, while Venetian/Palazzo's cheapest was $15. This was on a Saturday evening around 5-8pm though, so later at night those limits could change.

That table often pops up to $10 minimums, despite them offering the $5 craps table all day according to their sign.

Venetian has WAY more craps pits that Caesars. I've seen 10min tables at Caesars.

Passed through Margaritaville twice earlier this month, a Sunday night and a Tuesday morning, both times craps was $10, no $5 table. I did see $5 at Bally's.

As for pit heat, not sure what you're talking about, it's craps not blackjack. Sure I've seen some pitbosses act nervous when the table gets hot and even try to swap in new dice in the middle of a roll (that didn't go over well) but other than that in all the craps I've played (and it's been a lot) I can't say I've ever seen anything I would consider "heat".

Stayed at Caesars two years ago and they had plenty of $10 tables during the week and during the days on weekends. No idea what the current conditions are.

Wierd, I just got from a Caesars last week and half the tables were $10 pretty much all the time. Same case with all my trips prior since 2009.

I've seen $10 all days of the week, even nights except weekends. I was there a week ago. I like the CP dealers better than Venetian. Venetian has $10 sometimes during the day, always $15+ at night. Never liked the vibe in V/P in any game really, I rarely go there to gamble.

To OP, anywhere you go it'll be 3/4/5 odds on strip except casino royal which is 100x odds lol. My favorite place to play craps on the strip is probably Aria. Since your talking neighborhood of V/P and CP - you may consider dropping in and playing at the Cromwell, fantastic dealers and great vibe.

As far as felt vs microfiber layouts, I'm pretty sure all of the MGM props and CET props, along with V/P and Wynn use microfiber. I don't recall Casino Royale.

Is it? I've never noticed that. Will have to ask next time. I always saw the $10 minimum and just presumed the whole table was that.

Main difference is AC has 5 times odds on all numbers.
Las Vegas uses primarily 3x4x5x odds.

If your stay at Palazzo/Venetian is on the weekend, expect a few $15 tables; most will be $25 minimum. And they aren't too thrilled to comp gamblers anymore.
