Just read on LVA that rumor has it that the Quad will be re-named later this year.....

Another ID Change for The Quad?: An LVA member just texted us with the breaking news that they were informed this morning by a front-desk clerk at The Quad that the property is set to change its name again to some new incarnation to be announced in July. This is the first we've heard of this and ditching the new brand sounds like a very expensive way to go -- and so soon! -- but The Quad was part of the recently announced $2.2 billion property-transfer from Caesars Entertainment to Caesars Growth Partners, which is undertaking to invest a further $223 million in completing the redevelopment of The Quad (where the pool and other amenities are currently closed for ongoing construction). Does "redevelopment" now mean another new ID? Time will tell and we'll keep you posted if/when we hear more, but we do note that when the former Imperial Palace's new name was announced, back in the fall of 2012, we ran a Reader Poll and initial feedback in reaction to "The Quad" was not positive: Only 3% of voters actively liked the name, while the top result was that it conjured up images of a prison exercise yard or college campus...)

Well, "The Quad" has to be one of the worst names I've ever heard for anything. So yeah, probably a good idea to change it.

I have no opinion about the name "The Quad". I don't feel like it's necessarily bad or good. If they think the renovations and name change will help them gain customers, well that's great. But we'll see.

Number 4 is considered an unlucky number in Chinese because it is nearly homophonous to the word "death"

    (stole that from wiki)

They should change it to something new and creative like the "Imperial Palace."

Very interesting. I always thought the name sounded cold and boring.

They should call it the "Whole Year Inn", or rather the "Hole You're In".
Yes, I confess, I stole this from the movie " Leaving Las Vegas", with my paisano Nick Cage (Coppola).

Then again, my brother and I used to be able to get rooms at the I.P. for $15-$20 bucks per night. That was an amazing deal. Considering it was right smack dab in the middle strip, how could one complain?

Just one rule about the I.P., it always reminded me of the warning people gave you about going to Mexico--as in "don't drink the water."

There was a similar rule with the I.P./Quad--"don't eat the food."

Caesars sent me a survey about the name before we new it would be called The Quad, so they evidently did at least some market research. My response to the survey said I thought it was an awful name. I think they thought it would attract the college age crowd.

just like no 13 floor in our elevotors not 4 in therers.

if your buying a condo in vegas dont buy one with one on the 4th floor.

there was talk about them removing the 4th floor from the high priced condos by the strip as alot of asian money investing in there.

Are you talking about the guy in the wheelchair that used to park in front of the Flamingo?

Well, I really don't put much into what I think about a place because of it's name but to be honest The Quad...has to be one the worst names ever regardless of where they got it from. I wouldn't think they could do any worse, lol.

The should of just called it O'Shea's all a long. I was just in both last week and O'sheas was always busy but The Quad casino never really had much going on.

I'm just guessing but as cheap as CET is, I'm sure they will rename it but leave the "Q" carpet pattern!! :rolleyes2:

I feel like "The Cromwell" is already worse.

The Asian "four" connection I never considered.

You can bank on the carpet staying the same!

I suggested the double deuce. Since the rooms are #2 times two.

However I would fully see them renaming it The LINQ, since they could save a pantload on all the funny looking Q logo items on the property. Not to mention its a perfect tie into the shopping plaza called the Linq.

I wish they would theme and name it Horseshoe . I live in Indiana and we have 2 Horseshoe casinos here. They are both excellent. With the number of Horseshoe's around the country you would think it would be a perfect marketing opportunity.
