Lookie Lous and Louisies. This irks me to no end. The person or persons that stand behind you as your playing a machine for long periods of time. I really don't want to give out mean looks. I wouldn't want to mess up the casino vibe. How does one go about shooin awaythese people without screwing up the positive waves. Any answers both serious and non-are welcome.

I don't mind it so much, as long as they don't then want to get involved... especially on VP... I get irked when I get an unsolicited partner who starts telling me what to hold.

What a genius response. Some casinos are prepared for such action. Orleans pumps a lot of perfume through there air systems.

Another thing to do is wait until your credits are too low to play. Then pretend to make a phone call saying you're out of money. "45 minutes?, OK I'll just wait here". Then check email, play a game on your phone, etc. As the a-hole begins to walk away, slip a 20 in the machine.

I just really hate the lookie Lou SMOKERS (and their stupid friends ) standing a foot away and mumbling when I'm at the tables. And no, I don't hate smokers just the ones that smoke like 13 year old girls !!!

the only time i saw people stopping to look and the only time we stopped to look is when someone hit a bonus so we could see what the bonus was.

COuldn't imagine standing just watching someone at random, that is just weird.

We don't stand right behind them either, and it is always when we are in passing, we don't go out of the way when we hear the bells.

We were a little stumped though when we saw a lady win a decent bonus, i don't know how much it was but i am sure it was over $100 and she didn't even crack a smile. She had this look on her face like hurry up already, we were like geez, even if you had lost alot already we would be happy lol.

I don't mind those who stop to watch a bonus or something, as long as they do so from an appropriate distance. Then you have the people who stand RIGHT next to me, or lean or touch the chair. My wife doesn't even stand that close...

It depends on where you are playing. At my local NA casino's, the places get so busy that people stand 1 or 2 deep just to get on your machine. That I can understand.

But in Vegas, I just stop pressing the spin button and take a break to relax and look around. Turn and look at the person waiting behind you and say "Hi!" Find out what they want, or are they stalking you?
Then, based on your observation, either give them your machine and walk on, or just throw in another $20 and slow play it. :evillaugh

The scenario that would irk me the most is this one I slip a hundred in the machine and within 10 minutes time it vanishes. I hear the murmurings. He didn't even hit a bonus or that went fast. Thanks for the pick me up. It's like you ever thought you brought me bad luck.

Its not so much the smell, but the sound that does the work. However, the thick wet green ones, the kind that sticks to your clothes, is needed to counter someone blowing their cigarette smoke in your direction.

I can't stand them, I don't mind people playing near me looking but don't stand behind me. I am playing to entertain myself, not to entertain random tourists who aren't in the game. If I think they are waiting to take my spot, I have no problem reloading until they move on. I understand waiting for a speciality game but it's amazing how people will wait for games with common themes.

This happens at blackjack tables too...and I always have the same words anytime a guy is standing right behind me: "Come on in! The water's fine!".
And, they usually walk away...or every now & then, they actually sit down and buy-in. Either way, it works for me.

    Along the same lines...

Do you talk to the person at the machine next to you? My friend says she likes to "root people on"...

It seems most people mind their own business.

I think it's being nosy and intrusive to sit and look at how much $$ one has in a machine and how much they're betting.

    Amazon Fishing

My wife loves to play games that have "team" bonuses and to talk to the others playing. Amazon fishing is her current favorite.

I'll stop playing and start looking around like I'm day dreaming or people watching. Or I'll mess with my iPhone until they go away.

I find the majority of these people are new to Vegas and slightly concerned about forking over some cash to play. They may be there for vacation, a conference or something other than gambling.

I have stopped to watch a few hands at the table game especially if its a new/different game that I may want to play. I try not to linger but when drinking I may loss track of time.

Don't be a crab ass. Have some fun out there!

What's so wrong about the person next to you chatting you up? If you really don't like it, I think most people will catch on rather quickly. If I'm playing a game, and the person next to me enters a bonus round, I'M WATCHING! Hell.....I'm not in the bonus round! I might as well root you on!

The same folks who don't want anyone watching, always seem to be the same ones who "sit back" while the credits ring up after a big hit! Funny how that goes.
