Maybe there is hope for all of you who hate the street costume people. They never bother me, but I wouldn't miss them either. I have my one picture with the show girls.:evillaugh

What I want to know is how someone dressed as SpongeBob Squarepants would fit into a stall anyway lol

I really wish all casinos would ban those porn card "clickers" - maybe if THEY couldn't use the bathroom they would vanish from the Strip, and they are a whole lot more annoying than the street performers IMO.

Actually they don't bother me too much either. But I did notice last trip that they really seemed to congregate just outside of The D and 4 Queens. There were so many last time, that I wondered if they'd been told to just stay in that area. Maybe that's why The D was the first to cut off washroom privileges.

these costume losers are the worst type of parasites and hypocrites

they stand around on PUBLIC property and most of them are illegally using the intellectual property of some company and they justify it I am sure based on "I bought the costume" or "that company makes billions anyway they won't miss my money" and they degrade the character with their filthiness and trashy antics, but then they get belligerent and demanding and sometimes even violent when a person also on PUBLIC property LEGALLY takes their picture and does not pay them

um it is PUBLIC property where you have ZERO expectations of privacy and you think nothing of paying no royalties to the company of the character you are wearing, but you will berate and go after someone that is LEGALLY taking a photo of you on PUBLIC property that you are loitering around on and clogging up

and then you want to use casino bathrooms and restaurant bathrooms to change in as if they are there to serve you leeches and parasites and no customer wants to see a fat drunken slob squeezing into a sponge bob outfit when they hit the casino bathroom

I can't stand the porn slappers either, but at least they are not infringing on the IP of other companies and trashing the characters and I doubt most of them or even any of them would go after you for taking a LEGAL photo of them on PUBLIC property

I saw Michael Jackson heading into the restroom.

I followed him to make sure there weren't any kids in there.

    Rimshot...I'll be here all week!

I am curious how these guys plan to construct an argument that they are entitled to use the restroom of establishments where they aren't real customers. And if they can afford lawyers, either there are too many people "tipping" them or they don't need to be on the street harrassing people.

I'd like to see all casinos 86 / trespass these scumbags. In addition, I'd like to see undercover cops put the leeches in jail when they demand and assault or threaten people demanding payment. Their first amendment rights allow them to perform / stand on the street, but they are not allowed to demand payment.

Set up stings and throw their ass in jail for assault and/or battery and any other offense when they engage in physical contact or verbal threats after demanding payment. Porn slappers are not selling a service and thus are protected under the first amendment. Street performers can solicit tips or donations, but cannot demand payment for a photograph. People are allowed to photograph in public, whether the subject likes it or not.

If I had a choice between costumed weirdo's, or the alternative which would probably be pan handling, hands down the weirdo's.

the porn slappers were more harassing than the street people. I never tried to take a picture though and not tip (i wouldn't take a pic even if i didn't come to this board before) so maybe if i had they would have been rude.

I didn't really mind the "street performers" until I witness one confrontation.
Two young woman took a picture with 3 st perf. they tipped them a dollar,
lease guys wanted 3 dollars... they harassed and verbally abused these two ladies, me and my friend pretended to know the ladies, took their hands a lead them away... the situation could have easily escalated into a fight...

I'm sure these were just a couple of rotten apples, but there should be some stings set up, to weed out those scumbags. :grrr:

I am also a bit ambivalent when it comes to the costumed posers, some are really clever like the spot-on Pee Wee with his bike but others are repulsive like two women dressed as nuns and exposing their (granted covered) breasts for photos.

So you're giving a pass to the guy whacking it in a porn theatre but condeming women of god for showing off what god gave them? Ok Ok! LOL.

In all seriousness. I don't know when Downtown became Hollywood Blvd and while I admit that it does bring some color downtown I too wish that there were no buskers or street performers anymore. Carl Ferris is exempted from that because he was a hired performer by the casinos. The others all ride the bus (I know I've ridden the bus with guitar players, marilyn monroe, charlie chaplin, and many others riding) downtown and when they get off most of them do indeed harass those who take photos of them without tipping.

It's a situation that has gotten out of control because now homeless people are set up on fremont with signs of all sorts blocking the pedestrian traffic and giving LV a bad name. It surprises me security does nothing to stop this.

The ones who take the time to get licensed, have a decent costume that wasn't bought at walgreens, and the ones who ACTUALLY have talent should have a way to get licensed to perform. The rest who do not have a license should be fined, and possibly jailed.

There was a thread recently wondering if the costumed people/street performers/pan handlers are getting out of control on Fremont.

Based on my last trip, I'd have to say, yup. Definitely.

In a third of a block between Four Queens and the Fremont, I counted 25 people out there to one way or the other take money from the public.

And in the quarter of a block between the Nugget and Binions, I counted 10 more.

Another observation - funny how every panhandler down on his luck is a veteran.

I don't believe it for a minute and you folks who are vets, I don't know how you feel about what is most likely misrepresentation.

I want neither when I visit on my vacation dime. FSE needs to clean up all that can be intrusive to someones vacation. Street performers should be required like hotdog vendors to apply for a permit, which proves they have been reviewed and deemed a performer, is licensed and legal. And then only those guys should be allowed to use the facilities in the casino in return for the city assurance that not every tom, dick and harry is using them. I like to hear talented sax players and the like, but there should be a standard followed. It also assures that abuse of vacationers is reduced as they could lose their peddling/entertaining licence via complaints.
