I have given up drinking pop. Unfortunately, my favorite drinks always involve captain/jack and diet. But no soda for me.

I am not into anything too sweet and don't drink much beer. (Too filling) Love a great bourbon or gin, so anything with those is good. Open to all options though. Always up for trying something new. Shots put me under the table, so need a mixed drink. Keeping this in mind, help me with some drink options that will easily be comped while gambling. (Obviously with a tip to the cw)

Always appreciate the help of this board!!!

Depending on how you deal with Vodka, I would suggest vodka and orange. Has the added benefit of being called a really manly name, a screwdriver.

I love love love Scotch! (How did I forget this) Keeping in mind I am not a black chip gambler, what quality Scotch could I ask for at a table? Don't need high end, but no swill either. Most of my play is at CET properties or downtown, but will probably do some time at Mlife properties because of Myvegas comps. Once again, great help from this board!!

GF and I used to drink Crown straight up, but Doc say for her to cut it with something (and no caffeine sodas), for her endoscopic exam said it was too hash on her throat.

So after experimentation, Crown mixed with a lemon/lime soda water, and just a tiny splash of Ginger or Sprite (not the diet stuff). Works for us.

I can still drink it straight up, but since she can no longer do, I have joined her on this. The mix actually works to our liking, its good! Try doing / experimenting something like this with the Captain or Jack. You'll eventually find the combination that works for you!

Dirty martini, greyhound (vodka and grapefruit) or bourbon/scotch with a splash of water. You'll be surprised how much better you'll feel not drinking the soft drinks.

My late, great dad was a martini drinker. He always hated that so many other drinks were called martinis that were nothing like a real martini. Gin and vermouth. THAT's a martini he would say :)

I like B&B on the rocks when I want something to sip. I went through a Scotch phase but haven't had any for awhile. Honey Irish Whiskey (usually Bushmills) has been a recent favorite. I'm also a brandy drinker, love it with coke or in an Old Fashioned.

I love Woodford Reserve / Makers on the rocks. Not the same as downing shots. Order a side bottle of water to keep you going strong and hydrated.

If you MUST have your drink mixed, I second the Manhattan recommendation and would also consider a Mint Julep (especially for the Derby).

    I love my Scotch also

We were just at Wynn and they gave me all the Glenlivit I wanted. This was on the floor playing penny slots or .25 vp. I think most places will comp you Johnny Walker Red or Black. I dont know about Downtown or locals joints ,but it doesnt hurt to ask,all they can say is no.

Do you like a little sweet/bitter orange??

    Campari and soda

    Or

An Americano: Campari, sweet vermouth and soda

    Or

    Negroni (one of my faves)

Campari. Gin. Sweet vermouth. 1:1:1. Stirred and up or just as good poured over rocks and gently stirred. Never shake.

    2 suggestions

My wife and I were in LV the first week in April and I was able to get Macallan-12 on the floor at Bellagio and at the M Resort. I got Glenmorangie on the floor at Green Valley Ranch as well.

My brother's favorite drink is worth trying -- a Washington Apple. You can get the drink or a shot so try the drink (includes Crown Royal) and enjoy.

How about one of the naturally flavored Skinny Girl vodkas? They also have no sugar added to them and are a little less on the alcohol content, I think they are about 60% instead of the normal 80%. They have flavors like tangerine and a few others that I currently can't think of. I think that they are also only about 75 calories for either an ounce or ounce and a half.

Ok, so now I see that you like scotch. I'll share a quick story with you that might interest you. A few years ago I was killing some time & playing green chip BJ on the main floor @ MGM waiting for someone to go to dinner. The CW came by to take orders. I was in a very good mood and started chatting her up when she came to our table. As I was doing this I asked her which of the JWs she could bring to the floor as I was handing her a red chip. She responded with "whatever one you want". I took it easy on them and only ordered the gold one. I think you know the morale to the story ...

P.S. Drink quickly as the CWs come back pretty fast once you've given them that first $5 tip:beer:

I went a little crazy with the $1 airplane bottles of booze from Lee's liquor store. Gave me an opportunity to try some different stuff. I try to buy things that I can down straight if I have to. Airplane bottles are both a time saver and cost cutter for me. And I feel like a badass with my purse and pockets full of them. It's not something I would ever do at home.
