OK, coming next week and cancelled my 2 nights @ GN Rush tower @ $80 per night to accept an offer of 2 Comp nights @ Red Rock! No free play included but what the heck, free rooms! We've never stayed @ Red Rock and have only played minimally so I was surprised by their offer! We're excited and love low limit BJ & Craps and also hit the slots and vp.
Did a little searching and found some good info here but looking for more recent experiences. Anyone stay recently? We're familiar w/ Yardhouse but how are the other restaurants? I see they have some happy hour specials. Anything stand out? Any good bar top VP?
Any input appreciated! Good Luck all!

I used to stay at Red Rock twice a year and it was my favorite place to stay. Then my host moved, I was given a new host and he would not grant me the free rooms even though my play increased and I lost $2000 over a 3 day stay at the black jack tables.
The italian restaurant and Bar-b-que place are both above average and affordable. They have an excelent food court with a Capriotti's sub shop. My favorite it the Bobby. It is Thanksgiving dinner on a roll with real turkey. The coffee shop has some great deals and the buffet is a bargain with lunch about $9.
The pool area is relaxing although the main pool has a lot of kids. There are 3 other pools that the adults tend to gravitiate to.
The bartop VP varies. The bar near the sports book has 9/6 Jacks or Better on 1 side and 8/5 on the other. You have to check each machine.
I wish I could stay at Red Rock again but the best I get is $79 a night + $25 resort fee and when you figure in the cost of the rental car it just is not worth it when I can stay at many strip properties for free or pay $99 to stay at the Wynn.
Lastly the rooms are very comfortable and large. The bathrooms have a huge soaking tub and a sperate shower and duel sinks.
I am sure you will enjoy your visit.

Try to get a room as close to the elevators as possible. We could not hear them at night.
The reason; the hallways are very long! Nice hotel and casino.

My wife + I used to get free rooms.
    We loved the place.
    Beautiful rooms.
We took the strip view side because we didn't want
to hear the nightclub music - they access the pool area /side.
    Nice pool(s) !.....very comfortable lounges.
Decent coffee shop --- very good buffet.
    Played VP.
Check both sides of sportsbar for paytables.
Good workout room + separate lap pool.
I swam laps everyday - pretty much by myself.
Saw a movie in the theater on property.
    Bowling alley,too.

I loved the Brew Pub ( off property ) right across the street -
    from the parking lot.
    Great beers + food.
( Just can't think of the name, right now ? -- and I have
    a bunch of their coasters - I use )

    Shuttle to strip + airport.

I played for a couple of hours last summer and got an email from a host, who told me he would hook me up with a room for a couple of nights next trip out this summer. Will be interested to see how it compares with strip resorts (usually stay at Wynn, Palazzo and Caesars Palace.

I think you might be thinking of The Yard House - that is the place I always see when I enter Red Rock from the parking lot!

Last July I was at Red Rock and had heard about the great Capriotti subs so I was looking forward to giving them a try - that is until I got on the line. While waiting, I observed the guy at the counter (wearing sanitary gloves by the way) alternating between making the sandwiches AND making change from the register - without ever changing his gloves. I said "Hell, no" and walked off. What is the purpose of having workers wear sanitary gloves if they are being completely unsanitary?

Maybe I'll give one of the other Capriotti locations a shot on my upcoming trip.

Red Rock does have quite a few very good restaurants though and the casino is nice with a good variety of games and promotions. I have done pretty well there.

My favorite restaurant at RR is Terra Rosa. Unfortunately, it's going to be closed and eventually renamed when their announced $35 million renovation begins. I'm not sure when that will be, but if it's still there when you are, I recommend trying it.

What is it like staying there? Does you wish you were closer to the strip when you stay there? It seems like a really nice place to stay at.

    Great the rock

Rooms are excellent. Someone wrote about long hallways so get a room by elevator. Not really true, you want a long hallway, try Aria on some floors - that is a walk!

VG variety with food and casino is also great, again more variety. Folks there seem to be genuinely nice and helpful. From check-in to floor people, etc.

Pool or pools are also top notch. Location, while away from strip has +'s and minuses I suppose. Rampart and Suncoat (that the name of it, I tend to forget)are close by but I think the rock offers anything you need. Well worth a visist or 6.

For coffee in AM - stop by café and also get a donut or two really for same price as Bellagio or aria.

    Great value, great people.....

Just got back. Red Rock is great! The rooms are really nice. I agree about the elevator.. the desk agent asked if I was ok being far away, I said sure... but yea it was like freakin 60 doors down. It was REALLY far away. Also park in the East Garage.

The casino is really nice, big and clean. There is movies, bowling, bingo. Restaurants they have Yardhouse, Lucille's BBQ, that's pretty good (I've eaten at a local one). The Cafe was decent. Good prices at least... I got out of there for under $15 for breakfast each day.

The one thing I noticed is everything is just a better value, this place is nicer than a lot the places on the strip too. It's far though, keep that in mind it's a 15-20 minute drive to the strip.

The buffet provides great value for all meal options.

We usually stop here forbreakfast or lunch on the way back from hiking at Red Rock.

Another thing about the long hallways, if I remember correctly, if you retire early for the night, hopefully they will not have a concert that night.

The brewery I posted about --
    is NOT "Yardhouse".
    Yardhouse is ON property.
The brewery is across the public street from
    the Red Rock property.
I cannot remember the name ?
    Maybe ?........"JT's" ....?.......or something similar.
As I said, "Great craft beers + food.":nworthy:

Ok, so just back from our 5 day trip to Vegas and our first stay @ Red Rock! We had a great time and Really enjoyed our stay! I'll try to write a more detailed trip report when I have time but I'll give a few thoughts on Red Rock here.
Arrived at RR @ 0830 am and went straight to the buffet. Great breakfast for the price ($7.99) and decent service.
Went to check in @ 0930 for 2 comp nights. My buddy told me to use the invited guest check in across from the regular check in and I probably wouldn't have, but there was a line so we did. Great service, was offered a view choice (strip or mountains) and couldn't decided so I let her pick. There were also some amenities offered to us like VIP elevator, coffee, water, snacks in the welcome area. Nice touch. A host also introduced herself as we were checking in and offered to "take care of us" next time we visit. I never used a host before and don't think my play warrants it so I politely took her card and thanked her.
Room was on the 9th floor, halfway down the hall, with a mountain view. We were in the room by 10am!! Room was very nice and the wife loved everything about it. Similar to the M but a much better view.
Both of us loved the casino, lots of machines and low limit table games.
Only meals were at the food court and café as we went off property to meet friends for dinner both nights. Wife and I finally got to try the "Bobbie" @ Capriotti's and enjoyed it so much, we had another the next day!!! Yummy!!

Overall, we loved everything about RR and hope the get more offers down the road. Checked the players club before checkout and ran 6K through slots and a little VP. Lost $480. played a couple craps sessions with no big wins or loss. We'll see if we get invited back.
Next 2 nights at The Hotel and play @ Mandalay Bay. I'll include with my trip report as I finally got a small handpay!! yay!!

Oh, and Joe, The brewhouse across the street is BJ's Brewhouse. Didn't get a chance to go but might try on next trip.

Thanks all for your tips and thoughts, this thread and previous ones! I'm glad I switched from Golden Nugget as we had a great time!!! Good Luck!

Does anyone else hate asking for food comps from the pit bosses? I feel like it's a pain having no idea where you stand and I hate rejection! I love the RR, but it'd be nice if it were like everywhere else, where I could grab a meal at the end of the trip and use up whatever points I've accumulated.

    resort fee

Is there any way to avoid that $25 resort fee? I have 3 comped nights booked but am considering booking elsewhere to avoid a $75, thanks for nothing, fee.
