    Little break down,

I have a host at PH. She booked my room under full comp, she also added my friend's name to the room as I told her I won't be there to check in.

When it came to the day to check in, the front desk must have not seen that the host booked the room and gave my friend a really hard time upon checking in.

My friend used her credit card to check in, but upon checking in, the front desk guy said from the time she checked in, which was 11pm, I need to show face there by 11:59pm, otherwise my friend will be charged full price for the weekend. Mind you I was at another casino at the time, so to get this message with an hour notice, I rushed there to just show my ID and they said OK.

Since I didn't physically book the room, but my host added the name. Why would the front desk give my friend a hard time when clearly her name was on the room also?

Are you sure that they didnt mean her card would be AUTHORIZED the full amount? It is pretty rare to ever CHARGE for a whole stay on the first night. Personally I would not have worried about it, and taken it up with said host the next day.

its common practice to charge for the room the actualy price until the person who gets the comp check in himself. thats why i do the check in and then give my friends the keys

The room was for a gambler that gambles at their property. It is not a gift that can be given to someone else.

Therefore, the "gambler" that was comped the room needs to register.

    Sorry.

Often, the other person would not be able to check in at all. In fact, there was probably some backroom discussion saying "We really should not have let that person check in at all, it is not his room".

I see the PH side of this. How did they know the person that they gave the comped room was in Vegas at all, if they didn't check in?

Good points made. But considering I let my host know she'll be there to check in it shouldn't have been an issue. But I can see your guys' points.

Then be upset with your host, not PH. The policy of CET in Vegas is the primary person on a comped reservation has to be present at check in. Your host should have told you that.

It was YOUR room, given you YOU for YOUR play, not given to your friend for your friend's play.

Whether or not your host added your friend is irrelevant, YOUR reservation was for that night, and apparently the check-in cut off in these situations is 11:59pm, one minute before the next day begins.

Your friend may have checked in before that time, but it wasn't your friend's room, it was your room, and you had yet to arrive.

I think PH was kind enough to allow your friend to check in before you, the primary room holder/reservation holder/comp'd player, even though apparently you're staying at another casino (comp'd I assume) and are trying to "gift" your comp room to someone else and you're mad at PH because they would like to confirm you're even in town and that you, the player, are not "gifting" the room to someone else while you're back home?

Your anger or disappointment seems quite displaced to me

He didn't say he was staying at another hotel, he was just at a different hotel at the time. It is standard policy of CET that anyone on the reservation can check in, but if all the people who are on the room reservation who have their TR accounts linked to the room rate do not show up, then they will charge the person who did check-in the calendar rate for the room.

But I do agree that PH did nothing wrong in this instance, except for the manager being rude to you, unless your friend was being rude to him.

    Standard for CET

Na VDmTom, it's the CET Douchbaggery.

They gave my wife the same trouble, @Paris 2012, Reserv. was in my name, &
The Mrs. Tried to get our room keys, same last name + Confirmation paperwork, while she was there with the bell hop w/our luggage.

I was parking the rent-a-car in the Paris/Bally's garage,
and anyone that has used their parking understands the Trek from the parking garage to Check in.

They were swimming in apologies to me at the invited guests check in, after she told me they refused to check us in.

Again, it is their stated policy. Just because it is a marries couple in this case doesn't change anything. If you make a reservation with a companion, it will prompt you that the primary cardholder must be present at check in. There have been to many people trying to take advantage of someone else's comps who may never even make the trip. The casino never gets the play the we're anticipating in return for the offer.

    OP said;

So the OP was there, in LV, at 11pm, but not at the PH or it seems with any plans to go to PH, the hotel reserved in the OP's name, anytime soon.

    It's near midnight

Where's the OP's luggage? Sitting at a BJ table?

Do you usually, upon arrival in LV go to a hotel other than the one you're staying, with your luggage and all? Maybe I am the odd one here, but I go straight to my hotel, check in, drop my bags and then head out.

Unless the OP says otherwise, it seems to me the OP was double-booked and expected to be able to show at PH at their leisure and PH was supposed to just accept those circumstances without question.

PH did nothing wrong. It's your reservation, you have to be there by a certain time (unless otherwise noted in reservation or by host). You can't expect a hotel to allow anyone to check in and the person the room is reserved and COMP'd for, to either never show or show "whenever" while some other person is using that room.
