So I know nothing about all these books people are talking about and I live in Canada. So I took the list of ones I'm hearing about on here and my bookstores have nothing. Nadda, zip.

How can I get free coupons other then these books? Or where can I buy these books?? Can you get them IN Vegas??

You could try AMAZON or e-bay. Depends which books you are looking for.

Pretty sure you can't buy either in Canadian book stores but you should be able to order them online.

While in Las Vegas people have said you can get the American Casino Guide at the Gambler's General Store (Downtown) or at some Barnes and Noble locations.

For the Las Vegas Advisor coupons I think you have to be a member of their website to get that book, but not 100% sure on that.

For both books/coupons you can find a list of what coupons they offer online:
    ACG at:
    http://www.americancasinoguide.com/2014-american-casino-guide-coupon-list.html

    LVA at:
    http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/whyjoin-mrbdetails.cfm

In both cases there are coupons for both The Strip and Downtown so you will be able to find some to use in either case... but there are also lots for off-strip locations where its not usually going to be economical to go use all those coupons unless you have a car to get around and want to put a bit of time in to it.

So we can't buy the books in Canada and there's not enough time to have anything shipped from the US ...looks like I'm SOL with coupons :(

Nooooo.... as said: you can get them at some Barnes and Nobles (I think there is one in the fashion show mall and might be another at that mall before the outlet) and at The Gamblers General Store which is Downtown

I know but I won't be hitting the mall or downtown until probably 2 days into the trip, so I don't see the point ...

I am from Canada and ordered my ACG from amazon.ca - it took about 5 days to arrive in Alberta from Mississauga, Ont.

Yeah you probably don't have time to order a book.

But when you are there you can probably still get some coupons:

    - a few hotels give coupon books when you check in

    - look for the free Vegas tourist magazines when you are there. Those little 24/7 books in the back of the taxis never seem to have coupons but most of the others do. A good place to find the magazines is at the shopping centers (Fashion Show, Miracle Mile, Canal Shops) at their information desks but you can also pick them up elsewhere. You aren't likely to find coupons for like 2-for-1 buffets and stuff like you would get from the ACG or LVA but for shows and attractions and some sitdown restaurants

    - if you do get to one of the malls at their information desk you can ask for their shopping passport coupon book. Most have one for shops and restaurants at their mall.

    - When you arrive in Las Vegas you can also check some of the Hudson News stands at the airport. IIRC a few years ago (4-5) they did carry the American Casino Guide... but no idea if they still do or not.

Oh and I said "Barnes and Nobles" in Vegas might carry it but I think its actually "Borders" that carries it.

    And one more suggestion:
In a previous reply I posted the links to lists of what coupons are available in each book.

You were saying that it will probably be two days in to your trip before you are able to go Downtown or be near one of the malls... what you might do is take a look at the coupons, at least for the American Casino Guide, and decide just how much of them you would use for the first two days of your trip and what you would use for the remainder of your trip.

There might still be enough value to go buy the book Downtown after the second day but I am thinking that if you see enough value in the coupons for the first part of your trip that you might want to consider making a special trip on the first day to go get a copy of the book.

Like, you could call the Borders at Town Center and see if they have a copy of the ACG in stock and if they do thats usually just a 15 minute Deuce ride south on The Strip (if thats where you are staying) to get there and go get a copy of the book and then head back or if there are lots of coupons you would use maybe even so much as taking a taxi from your first hotel to somewhere like the Gambler's General Store to get a copy - might seem counter productive to spend $30-40 on a round trip cab ride to the store and back but if there is enough value in there that you would definitely use then it might pay for itself (though adding in the cost of the book that would be a lot of coupons you would have to use just to get back to the breakeven point)

You can sign up for las vegas advisor online and then choose to pick up the book at their office. You should be able to buy the american casino guide in vegas.

Coupon books have ruined 2 Vegas Vacations for us with all of the running around you have to do, to get any value out of them. Maybe this is a blessing.....

No coupons this coming trip, and grateful..... :peace:
