I'm a 33 y/o guy from Ohio, and just joined after I booked my 3rd trip to Vegas. My last trip was just over 5 years ago and my first trip was 3 years before that. This time I'm staying in a comped Paris LV Red Premier Room May 24-31st. Prior trips I stayed at MGM Grand and at Polo Towers in a co-worker's time share.

I'm looking forward to giving Paris a try. Having played there before, I liked the overall feel of the place. That being said, I like to visit both on strip and off strip properties. While I mainly use CET Total Rewards since I live near Horseshoe Cincinnati, I very much like the MGM-Mirage properties as well as the downtown casinos, especially 4 Queens.

For my upcoming trip I have booked several shows: O, Cher (she happens to be in town one night only on tour at the MGM Garden Arena), Penn & Teller, Mystere, and Divas at the Quad. I may end up adding MJ One or Love or possibly Absinthe - just haven't decided one way or the other.

Anyway, does anyone have anything in particular they like about Paris? I just hope I don't regret booking over Memorial Day Weekend since it's so busy. At the time I didn't even think about it being a holiday weekend, and now most CET hotels are already sold out per VIP Services. Luckily I got my reservation two days before sell out. Had I not already bought the airfare, I would have just changed dates... Oh well!

Welcome! I don't know much about the Paris, having just walked through a few times. But Penn & Teller was one of the most entertaining shows I've seen in town. You'll love it.

Memorial Day weekend can be pretty crazy. But you’ll be fine as long as you’re prepared.

Give yourself a few more minutes of transit time than you think you’ll need – taxi lines will be long, traffic will be fairly heavy and the sidewalks, crowded. It’ll take you a bit longer to get from place to place.

Also, if there are any restaurants that are must-dos, make a reservation – at least for the Fri-Sat-Sun before Memorial Day. I don’t know much about shows, but you probably shouldn’t wait until the last minute to get your tickets for those days either.

The pool parties and dayclubs are the big draw that weekend as it is the unofficial beginning of summer. Unless I’m mistaken, though, Paris doesn’t really draw a big pool party crowd. So you might avoid a good deal of the craziness.

Best of luck and welcome aboard.

Welcome Papa....wow - that is a lot of shows for one trip....hope it works out & you enjoy! We are regulars at Paris or Bally's. Love the Red Rooms at Paris...well appointed & comfy. The ease of moving around the casino to the rooms is a big selling point. We just got home from our latest trip Saturday morning and although we stayed in a new Jubilee room @ Bally's....we spent more time gambling at Paris. The drink service was the best of all casinos we visited. Any holiday weekend will be busier that normal but shouldn't be too bad. Have a great time!!

Carve, your tips are excellent. Those are things I specifically pondered but ultimately did not know what to expect. The taxi lines have been one of my concerns, especially at the airport. I've been thinking it would be worthwhile to just reserve a sedan through a limo company to get to the hotel. Also, reading an earlier thread, I decided I would just buy some beer at the airport liquor store. I figure the mark up is worth taking time to stop by the one on strip. I think I read that I can bypass the lines at some of the taxi stands on CET property. Not sure how that works exactly or who I have to flash my player's club card at, but I figure I can ask the front desk at check-in.

Sybgal, you're right as it is a lot of shows. However, after my first trip where my family scheduled a show every night without my input, I kind of liked the flow. Since then, I booked my 2nd trip the same way and now the 3rd. In terms of Paris, glad to hear the rooms are comfy. I'm just disappointed it doesn't appear I'll have a coffee pot. Many reviews I read mentioned not having coffee makers. Seems to be a Vegas standard. Even so, I'm glad to hear about the drink service in the casino. I like my beer and the occasional cocktail. You mentioned the short trip from the room to the casino, which is one of the reasons I booked Paris after reading several reviews. Thanks for all the information as it's much appreciated.

    Hi

I have stayed at Paris 2 x and staying again in September for 6 nights. There is a great coffee shop on the casino floor right past the elevators. Eat at Sugar Factory and Mon Ami Gabby. If you eat at odd times and not traditional dinning hours you usually won't have trouble getting in any place. Great view to watch the Bellagio fountains. You will love Paris. I agree it does have a great feel to the place. Lots going on around you. You are also close to Planet Hollywood were they have an Earl of Sandwich shop and it is a great place for quick bites and the best bread ever on a sandwich. Hopefully these help you and you have a great trip. One more thing you are in a great location to walk and get around anywhere heading in any direction on the strip.

I'm glad you mentioned the coffee shop. I just mentioned to a co-worker that I didn't think I'd have an in-room coffee pot today which would crimp my mornings. I need the caffeine boost and the Paris website references getting coffee at Ballys.
