I ate at the Circus Circus buffet last week, no issues. I come home and accidentally had a few bites of chicken (home cooked meal) before realizing it was under cooked. I'm not as sick as I could have been, but, I'm still miserable.

You know just because chicken might have a tinge of pink inside, doesn't mean it is under cooked. The same with pork.

It was actually under cooked. Everything in the crockpot looked good, the outside looked good. A few bites in I realized it wasn't done. That chicken is all I can taste still. I'm going to check the temp on that crockpot, it's newer, I suspect the temp controls are unpredictable.

Crock pot temperatures can vary wildly. I was looking on You Tube at Corned Beef and Cabbage recipes and one said on HIGH for 8 hours. B.S. The corned beef would be a pile of mush in the bottom of the pot. Another said 8 hours on low. So, it's all pretty much guess work, sometimes.

I know my tried and true Kielbasa and Sour Kraut takes 5 and a half hours on LOW so that's all I'm worried about.

I decided to do the CB & C on the stovetop like I always do.

I'm a big, longtime crockpot user and have several of them in various sizes. You have to know your pot. This one seems unpredictable because I thought it ran hot/fast based on previous meals.

If you like that then I think you'll love Bigos.

Tip: It tends to taste best about 4 days after originally being cooked.

I find that the best way to cook chicken is to boil if first, especially if you're going to griill.

I make the best Cock-pot Boston Baked Beans in the whole freakin' world. About 12 hours on low.
