Posted this in the Entertainment forum, but thought it'd be good here as well.

Just got back from the brand new Brooklyn Bowl at Linq. The place is pretty amazing. They did a great job transporting the original Brooklyn Bowl vibe to Vegas.

All this week through Thursday evening is free bowling and free shoe rentals. No limit on how long you can stay (And each lane can fit up to 8 people). We didn't know this until we got the food bill, but food is 50% off through Thursday as well.

They are not accepting reservations for bowling lanes this week. Just show up and they'll set you up with a lane and shoes. Stay and bowl as much as you'd like!

Once you get to your lane, someone brings you your shoes. A waiter then drops by and you can order food and drinks from him. I didn't get a good look at everything, but we got a french bread pizza for $15 and a poutine-like order of fries for $12. They also had an 8-piece fried chicken with white bread and honey for $24. These were normal prices before the 50% off.

Is it seriously $25 for half an hour??? Please explain why they've decided to charge so much....

It's actually $25 per half hour during the day and $30 per half hour at night. It sounds like a lot, but it's not too bad considering the price is per lane and you can have up to 8 people in a lane. I think with just four people, you could play two games in an hour. Even at night, that would be $60 for four people to play two games, or $7.50 per person per game (or $5 per game if you had six people). Still a little expensive, but considering the venue and the location, it's not ridiculous.

It's like going to one of those posh upscale movie theaters and paying $14 for a movie vs $11 for a movie at AMC.

I guess I'm just a little bitter since I bowl professionally in Canada and already pay high membership fees and what not. I'm also probably bitter since this trip there's only my husband and I going instead of 4-6 of us like our usual trips so for $25/half hour for 2 people, that's a little steep. I'm sure we'll go to the venue anyway and check the place out even if we don't bowl. Looks like a cool place regardless.

Yea, a bit steep if just for two. You can always go take a look around anyway. There's a very nice bar area that looks over Linq. It also looks like it'll be a great concert venue, so if there's a concert scheduled for when you'd be in town, it might be worth checking out. The concert area feels a lot like House of Blues (quite a bit larger than HoB).

This is not a joeblow bowling alley tho'. Those are prices are rather normal to slightly higher than Mustang Alleys in Baltimore.

However, it must be noted that BB is better and allows for more people.

Mustang Alleys charges $45 per hour with rentals included, 6 people per lane.
In comparison, BB charges $50-$60 per hour, rentals are separate, 8 people per lane.

Not a ton of difference there and it's not breaking the bank. If one really wants to bowl on the cheap, there's always Orleans, South Point, or Santa Fe (60 lanes), but those are off-strip.

In comparison, Dave & Busters is about half of BB but, come on, you're in Vegas and at concert venue also. Plus, that half is like on a Wednesday special.

Red Rock Lanes runs about $5 PER GAME so 8 people that's about $40.

Brooklyn Bowl is not outta line here.

I'm no pro, but I AM from the Rust Belt and I like to do some bowling at fair to reasonable prices. As a result, I usually go to The Orleans and save a TON off of Brooklyn Bowl prices (each person pays their own share per game, none of this "it's only worth it if you have 6 or more people" crap). Last place finisher buys In N' Out Burger across the street.

Last trip in October we went to Gold Coast to do a couple games of bowling. I think this time we're going to go to South Point. I've never mastered 10 pin bowling, but I still have fun trying.

Based on this I assume that 10 pin is not your game. Just curious what you play and where, if you don't mind me asking. I own a 5 pin centre in Manitoba. $27 per hour on weekends, but it's no Brooklyn bowl lol.

For you professional bowlers, note that Brooklyn Bowl uses the string pinsetters. My scores are usually embarrassingly low, so it doesn't matter to me, but I have heard those who are actually skilled are less than excited bowling with the string-attached pins.

It does make for faster set-ups and is almost completely trouble-free, so there's that.

5 Pin. Local bowling alley near my place. Been bowling for 20 years. Used to bowl in Winnipeg, now in BC. Primarily played YBC in Wpg. Moved to BC in 08'. Just league play ever since. I'll be going into Masters later on this year. (I've been lazy when it comes to Masters)

I can go on the weekends and play 4 games for $10 per person.

I understand that at $10/4 games adds up if I had a group of friends. However, we could take however long it required for us to play those 4 games. I think we'd be lucky to play 1 or 2 games within 30 minutes being 10 Pin.

Hard to go past Gold Coast and South Point for bowling. Although I have heard Sam's Town is also good.

We took a group of 20 up and after 2 hours and appetizers and tons of alcohol, bill was $300. Seems that all they billed us for was alcohol and even then it was still a light tab. Slow on the weekdays but concerts it gets packed

unfortunalty for them the concerts havent been drawing with excepting of phil lesh and elvis costello.

im sure janes will do good this weeked otherwise its been basicaly empty.

i heard robert randolph played to 13 people one day.

went to primus last thuisday probaly aropund 600-700 in there but they papered the house alot . capacity between 2000-3000 , they have a away to go.

hopefuly it picks ups, i think they need to stop the weekday booking and concentrat on the resturant and book more know bands that draw.

to many venues competing for the dollars and casinos willing to comp people in.

they also need light beer and bottle beer, the beer in plastic cups just spill on everyone at the concerts .bad idea

great food , they need to get the word out about it.

drinks are alot cheaper than regular nite clubs there, the cheapest beer i belive is 6$ -8$ so there prices arent bad.

they need a water fountian also

Would love to see Elvis, but he is not on their calendar for my next trip.

Steve Winwood is, and I think I'll pick up tickets to see him Saturday (flying in Friday)!

How is the space watching a crowded show (uncomfortable, OK, great)? Wish they had seating, haven't been to a standing room show since the 90s (Schubas are the Metro). Getting old.

The calendar is posted through Labor Day.

unfortunaly basicly no where to sit unless you buy a vip box or bowling suite.

when its crowded it suxs. its a long narrow room. if your in front of the over hand its good but very crowded if its sold well

if you dont like standing pass its not the venue for you as theres only a hand full off chairs and if its crowded they pull them out to make room for more people.
