So I made the leap and am based at McCarran Airport. I got me a nice apartment right next to Silver Sevens (Aka (and it will always be known as this to me) Terribles) Casino.

I'm trying to make the adjustments work for me but my car is in orlando. getting around on the RTC when you have things to do is NOT conducive but I'm happy to have bus service available when I need it.

I still have my apartment in Orlando but will be ending the lease there in may. This will give me plenty of time to find a storage unit and move stuff into there.

Just hope I can contribute some helpful info now that Im a local! Even if I'm only a local 3 weeks out of the month. LOL

Terribles to McCarren, that's not walkable with a carry on, is it?

Hell... Chef says it's walkable from McCarren to the Strip with a carry-on, so that's a just warm-up!

To Shaah... Congrats on the move!!! Maybe I'll see ya at the Hard Rock sometime, it's right there where you're staying!

I'm looking at it as I type this because I have a view of it from my living room.

We went to orlando last august and it poured every day of the 10 days we were there. We got sun for 1.5 days total. It sucked. I am sure the vegas weather will be more bearable. I would take dry heat over the humidity any day.

You are a flight attendant right? So can almost work out of any airport?

yeah - it often does that in the summer - that's the whole sub tropical climate this. its not often all day though - just an hour or so.

Its the price we pay for not having to wear 84 layers of clothes in the winter and curse at snowplough drivers burying our driveways in.
    I'm ok with that.

I have custody issues that will hopefully straighten out someday in the near future and I will be moving out there myself. I used to work for a car rental company and am 100% certain I can get back into that company and will have a decent job when it does happen.

This winter has been it for me, I absolutely hate it here. I have already informed my family that once my move is made I will NOT be coming home from October to April because of it. So Christmas get togethers will have to be in the summer. Just the other day seen a huge pile up on the interstate and just thought I am so done with this crap. We finished this winter (hopefully) in the top 10 coldest of all time with hardly any days above 10 degrees. I can handle the heat.

Good Luck Shaah, I don't even know you but am jealous since you live there.

Ya, i have a friend in orlando and even she said it was a bit unusual to have it rain that much. It just happened to be the 10 days -1.5 that we were there, it was back to sunny most of the day within 2 days of us leaving.

I will take my 4 seasons over that humidity lol.

Mat: LOL No it's a 1 bedroom. But I have a couch. LOL

Cousin Eddie: My job is the entire reason I'm here. Since I've "Crossed the partition" I am now working out of McCarran Airport instead of McCoy Field MCO Orlando. I'm making better $$$ with better work rules, paying less in rent (tho I still have my orlando apt for 2 more months) eating free every night thanks to Silver Sevens, have all kinds of entertainment options available. I think this was the right move for me. I haven't been to the strip but once since I got here and that was to watch the nascar haulers as they rolled into town.

Once I get a bit more time to settle in I'll start posting more about what I've been doing around town. For now I've been getting furniture, groceries, utensils, appliances, and clothes. I'm going back to Orlando at the end of this week to get alot more of my clothes to bring back and a secure a storage unit in orlando till I can completely move. I still haven't 100% decided if I'm ever going to go back to orlando. And if I choose to stay in LAS they will pay for my move.

I also forgot to mention my seniority fares a little better in LAS by far. I'm almost qualifying for a Vacation Relief line. I'm about 80-100 people away from holding a VR line.
