Casino Hotel babysitting.

Hi, I thought i would post my positive experiencces bringing a baby or toddler to Vegas.

When my boy was less than 3 years of age, I brought him to Vegas several times. I lived in palm Springs, and as my family and friends would come to Vegas, I would meet them to play, and so they could see him. I or Me and his Mom would bring him with for the weekend trip.

Many of the Hotel Concierge will hook you up with a FBI registered list of providers. The cost was $15-$20 per hour with a minimum of 4 hours. It was nice. You could safely leave your child in the hotel room with your rent a grandma. We would go out typically from 8pm-12pm, but could have stayed gone for upto 8 hours.


Each of my experiences were with retired school teachers in their 60's. Y=They basically give you a handout with several profiles and Phone numbers, you call them, give them a little interview, and schedule it. You then call the concierge to tell them when they are arriving. Typically, they would come 30 minutes early to get to know your child, and chat for a bit. They are not allowed to leave the room, and typically will bring their own lunch, books, etc.

I stayed at the Flamingo, and Harrahs mostly. The little bastard definitely slowed me drinking and gambling, but I did see a lot of Vegas with a stroller during the day.


I would not do this with the buddies, but if the crowd is more of your family, or couples. I would definitley recommend the day care services they offer.

I have heard of that at Disneyworld but i suspect your case is the exception, not the rule, of kids in Vegas.

You have some good reasons in your case but in most cases of people just wanting to gamble i will never understand bringing children.

Good idea, but pricey. I could get someone to look after my son for much cheaper at home and couldn't imagine ever wanting him to experience vegas but for those who literally have no one at home or around them then it would definitely be a good option.

Heck he is 15 now and asked if he could come and i told him no point until he is 21 and could experience everything lol.

 

The main reason is the Grandparents(who live in Nebraska) wanting to see the grand child! Believe me, when i say taking the baby to Vegas was much better, than the alternative, of having the inlaws at my home for a week! LOL.

 

I agree. I have always wondered why people bring their minor children to Las Vegas. I believe that there are more suitable destinations than Sin City.

 

Last time i brought the whole family, we brought our nanny with us and gave her her own room. I prefer not to bring the kids, but we wanted to take them to pkay at a nice pool, so Vegas it was! I got a cabana and played with the kids in the pool during the day, and took them to the dolphin habitat and Shark Reef (Platinum at MLife actually does have a useful perk...lol...i certainly would not pay money to see these). I took my wife and the two older kids (oldest was 5 at the time) to watch Love, while the nanny watched our infant. In the evenings, I gambled while the wife and nanny watched the kids...wife does not like to gamble. If it was not for the pool, the trip would have been pretty miserable for the wife and the kids. Still, i prefer to go solo, but pool season definitely helps to keep the kids occupied.

 

We had a similar good experience with the service that the Bellagio concierge uses. It was our wedding, so let's stipulate that this was a "legitimate" reason for some family members to have brought their small children to Las Vegas. On one evening, we wanted to take everyone to see "O," to which you cannot bring small children, so we used the service to watch the little ones during that time. They are licensed, bonded and very professional, but quite pricey. It's a great option for these types of situations.

 

I brought my 9 month with us as a family trip with both sets of parents. What an awful trip! Kid got sick and wouldn't sleep. I contemplated suicide but they actually make it hard to kill yourself there, go figure lol.

Next time leave the kids at home

 

Whats the age limit on kids they will watch? Will a 60 year old granny come take care of me? Would only need her from like 10-12AM, she could bring me breakfast, refil my water glass 34 times and make sure I get my ass outa bed.

 

I assume we've gone over the "Don't bring your kid to Vegas" in other threads plenty, I've even done it too.

That said, I brought my son to Vegas last month and it was great. We stayed at a non-casino hotel off the strip. We saw plenty of sights you simply can't see other places, and if you're careful it's pretty easy to avoid the sights you'd rather they didn't. Plus, his Great-Grandparents live in Vegas, so it was a family visit trip, too.

I appreciate the concierge tip. While he did stay with family one night so we could go out, it could be handy if either that wasn't an option or we wanted to take my Grandparents out with us.

 

The FBI is in the business of screening providers? I think there is a bit of play on words and meanings there.

 

The OP isn't asking for opinions on whether kids should be taken to Vegas or not, just sharing experiences for those who do.

 

I assume that means providers that have had a regular FBI background check run on them. Kind of like a "CarFax" for people.

 

Exactly. There are tons of people who take their little ones with them to Vegas - you see them everywhere. That is their decision and the information given by the OP might help someone who might not otherwise be able to go to Vegas. Not everyone has family around to help them at home.
