Having been a Raider fan most of my life, I'm a Richard Sherman kinda guy... he would've fit in perfectly on those great teams of the 70's and early 80's! His schtick only works when you back it up though... no margin for error. Never been a Peyton kinda guy, hell... even his brother has more Super Bowls than he does. I'll always take the guy with some flaws over one perceived as "perfection".

From a performance perspective I would love to have either on my team.

From a personality perspective I prefer Payton because he has a "little" more class and he let's his performance do the talking rather than his mouth. I just like guys that take care of business without the extra flair.

Arguably the best D of all time was the '85 Bears - they didn't do any trash talking, they just kicked ass! That's the way I like it.

*Cough* Pittsburgh Steelers' Steel Curtain *Cough*

Pittsburgh's defense was so good, the NFL was forced to make rule changes, prohibiting defenders from hitting receivers beyond five yards before the pass was thrown. Ended up with four rings when they hung up their cleats.

Don't follow the game these days. Looking forward to the Super Bowl in three weeks at Daytona.

Point well taken, but the punky QB did most of his talking off the field not on the field. Remember back in those days the D could actually hit the QB so he had to tone down the smack talk. Off the field he was a real pistol.

Take a guy like Walter Payton (RIP), he was ALL business. That's my guy!!!
