I'm staying in Vegas from Thursday - Sun. 4/10-4/13

I've been torn between The Cosmopolitan, Planet Hollywood, or the MGM. I've been told that cosmo would be the best bet for my age (30) and that I'm going solo (and single) for a couple of the nights. The only issue is the price really. Is it worth the prices at cosmo? Would I have a better time at PH and save a few hundred dollars? I'd like a place with busy lounge/bars where I can meet some people and have fun.

    Any suggestions?

Cosmo is absolutely your best bet. If you don't care about room quality you can stay at PH and walk across the street.

Women do care about room quality, and they will ask where you are staying :)

If money is no object, definitely Cosmo for the rooms. And I say this without seeing the rooms. Judging by the newness and cleanliness of the casino areas, it should be very nice.

But for convenience to things like fast food restaurants, breakfast places, ABC stores, go-go dancers at the tables, Spice Market Buffet, etc. Planet Hollywood is VERY handy. I find myself hitting the ABC Store daily for snacks and now there's a Walgreens just out the south doors.

I'm told the "Secret Pizza" at Cosmo is good. So that's a plus over PH.

Britney is appearing at PH. Not sure if that's good or bad! hehe Just kidding. I'm sure her show is just fine.

I'd say if you are concerned about costs, then I would recommend PH. You can always walk across the street if you want to Cosmo. PH is a ton of fun also

I would choose Cosmo. Cosmo will have a bunch of girls (drunk too) on the weekend. Cosmo has more of a "glamorous" feel.

The Cosmo is EXPENSIVE. I think your money would be better spent at PH. I think you'd get a younger crowd at PH (mid to late 20s), and we all know, guys like younger girls (and vice versa)

Cosmo is at least double if not triple the cost of nearly everything right now.. if you can't afford it, don't do it! Also all the food, and all the drinks and all the shopping are high end too. I'm 28, and I know I can't afford to stay at Cosmo comfortably, so I haven't yet. But I'm perfectly fine just visiting there! Plenty to see without staying there.

PH and MGM are great, no they aren't as luxurious.. but they are still great! PH is a good bet because it's a great location. Super easy to get anywhere. I would say you can meet people just about anywhere.

I would stay at PH and simply walk across the street. Cosmo is awesome for room and entertainment, but the casino vibe is dead during the day. The only x factor is if you plan on using the pool, they would put Cosmo over the top.

The fight (Pacman vs Bradley) is on 4/12. Expect hotel prices to be higher than normal. Expect long lines for everything (taxi, food, etc.).

I really enjoy fight nights in Vegas. Lots of girls. Lots of people gambling. Very lively on the strip

Sh*t... that was just announced it looks like. Which means I bet room rates are going to be going up. Maybe I should book today to lock in price and just cancel if something better comes up.

    What do you guys think?

Yep... I think it was announced yesterday or the day before... it will drive prices higher. Fight weekends are a GREAT time to be in Vegas... makes things even more "electric".

Personally, I'd go along with the folks who say, "Cosmo', as long as it doesn't break the bank. You'd be just fine at PH or MGM (where the fight will be) too, but Cosmo has maintained it's position as the cool, "in-spot" for a couple years now. Yes, the hardcore gamblers on this site will rightly criticize the gaming operations, but the casual gambler can get lucky anywhere

I have very little interest in gambling. Will probably spend 1/10th of my vegas budget on gambling. I'm more there to party and pick up girls. :)

Thank you for the reply! I'm going to book now.

Yeah do Cosmo then unless its out of your budget. Its definitely worth the extra if you plan on going to the pool area. Its a great place to meet girls and having a good time during the day. The rooms is obviously much nicer as well. Also if you plan on going to Marquee Cosmo has a separate line for hotel guest which get you in faster.

Won't be able to do much pool attending on my visit. Getting my Tattoo done Thursday and you definitely don't want to be bare in the sun after that :)

I figure the inside lounges and what not will still be fun mid-day though at Cosmo. Just booked the Terrace Studio and I'm pretty stoked, April needs to hurry up.

How do I get to this secret pizza place I've heard about? :licklips:

Yeah there is always fun stuff goin on at Cosmo. You can still enjoy the pool scenary by hanging out in the pool bar (all shade at blvd pool) and have a drink and just people watch.
Secret Pizza is easy to find, 3rd floor east tower (closest to strip) just walk trough the hallway with old vinyl records covering the walls. Also Holstein is great for burgers or wings.

Where your staying will matter very little with picking up chicks. How you look, dress, talk, act will matter much more. Vegas is full of people who make 50k a year but act like millionaires. On another note there are a lot of smoking hot chicks all over the Cosmo in the evening.
