Never had the Porterhouse but I HIGHLY recommend the Filet Mignon at the
Redwood. Ask for Hillario he is the best waiter I have ever had. I take my wife there once a month.

Redwood is Outback Steakhouse quality. Try Hugo's Cellar at the 4 Queens.

At the California after 4 instead of the prime rib with salad bar try their T-Bone. It's about $15, very good and includes the salad bar and potato.

Second Street Grill at the Fremont has a delicious t-bone special for 22.99 (or very close to that price, not 100% sure)

Second Street is a hidden gem. Great food there & the staff is the friendliest in town - they WILL remember you.

I have never been to Hugos its a little pricey for me as a local. I get 30 off at the Redwood once a month. How much is the quality beef at Hugos?
My guess is the 50 to 60 range? Either way I wish I could try it LOL

Answer is yes and no. I work for one of the dominant food companies in town. Most places get the same stuff its all in how you cook it. Other places only get special order type stuff.

There is basically select, choice and prime, the expensive ones usually brag about have prime steaks. The increase in marbeling in the meat increases the flavor.
